The nefarious thing about this bill is that every single Senator passed it. There was no debate. The public didn't even know about it until a whole month after it was already law. They passed it under the guise of banning gay conversion therapy forever, even when no gay people have endured such a thing for decades, but added the gender identity thing at the last minute. So now, if you do not transition your child who says they're the opposite sex, you are guilty of conversion therapy.
At this point I think that as a parent you need to be like the Stasi agent from "The Lives of Others". Monitor every interaction that your kid is having, everything he is doing and with who he is doing it and catch the thought of transitioning before it forms. Unfortunately people are not doing that and by the time the kid is "coming out" it is to late, any resistance will only push him further into the cult. I think making some tutorials for parents on how to set up monitoring tools would be helpful. If someone is having a problem with this you say that is monitoring for pedophiles and child abusers.
Same thing is being attempted in the UK too. They tried to rush it through with half the usual time allowed for people to lodge objections, and the entire bill is made up of quotes from one university paper (that of course sides with the ban). Turns out the terf yelling made them extend the deadline for any debate, but it’s really being pushed as “oh those poor gays, you can’t force them to be straight!” with as little mention of the troon issue as possible. Pretty sure it’ll end up passing (unlike the trannies).

I get where these true and honest trannies are coming from, but it's kind of hard to sympathize with anyone complaining that trans spaces are being taken over by actual women who put zero effort into even appearing trans. I know that these girls aren't doing it out of sympathy for their beleaguered lesbian and feminist sisters, but I can't help but appreciate what they're doing.

Bird sex is weird. They use different sex chromosomes (and a different SRY-type gene) than mammals. Their sex orientation can be significantly affected by their imprinting at hatching. Hell, it's relatively common (about 1 in 10,000) for a chicken to literally be male on one side of their body and female on the other.
Or it was "telling him what he wanted to hear". Some nurses are ridiculously nice like that. I also see it as a form of work management, keeping the patients content. Some of those patients are under extreme stress and can lash out even if they wouldn't hurt a fly normally, so it's good practice to keep them calm, reassured and a small white lie or two can't hurt. But at times it's genuine, unconditional niceness.
