Beardson did a whole stream mostly about the articles they wrote about him and the Theroux doc. He seemed really pissed at the fact that Theroux called him a manlet and said he could have easily beaten Beardson up in a fight:

I still can't believe that at any point they thought for one second speaking to journalists, much less Louis Theroux, would be a good idea. There was literally no way they could do an interview with him and they would come out looking even neutral, much less good. The dude is a professional hatchet man, who has made far smarter and better people look like fools. Only time he didn't was that one Boer guy he interviewed, and that was because he actually physically intimidated Louis, and it was clear that nothing Louis could say or do would matter to him.

Hubris and lacking or not caring to see the big picture on their part.

They, Nick in particular, think that they're so clever and ahead of the curve. How so? No idea, wignat, just trust the plan. Making women as dry as the Sahara, eating at McDonald's six times per week for dinner will save the white race somehow. They're so focused on their relatively small corner of the internet that they don't see/don't care how it comes across to anyone who even approaches normalcy; they're unconcerned with the "normies" and just want to look good within their own community (while also claiming to represent white people, conservatives, nationalists and America.) Normal people see the incel shit, the "even wanting to have sex with women is gay," and the Peter Pan syndrome stuff as weird, retarded and cringey.

It's a "movement" at this point that's just about being contrarian to a lot of normal (healthy) society, and just being concerned about looking most "pure" to their anti-social peers. It's like looking at 4chan's /r9k/ board or something where they pine for the female touch and healthy social lives but lose their shit if someone there has a girlfriend and/or guy friends who they go to the bar with, except somehow the Groypers are at the point where their leader is either deeply in the closet or so scared of female intimacy while promoting dysgenic behaviours like poor nutrition and eschewing things like working out or building real world relationships (especially with those evil women who might try to make you do that real faggot shit like having heterosexual sex.)

tl;dr - they just want status and validation in a community of misfits and when the "normies" are put off by them it's a signal that they must be doing something right in their fucked up minds
