But AGPs don’t know how to act like members of an oppressed group because they have never been one.

Most actual minorities who have faced widespread discrimination and hatred know when to take a step back because on some level, they have a genuine fear of the majority, and recognize that that majority can still curtail their rights or worse. And their activism reflects that. Sure, you’ll always have the fringe crazies in any group that don’t know when to shut up, but the general base will follow the “push for our rights but don’t push so far that we can’t also just keep living our lives if possible” path. When a group does overstep and sees a backlash, you will see a general “step back” for the group’s own protection. It’s almost instinctual.

AGP troons have no concept of that. Not only are they commonly narcs, they are made up of the least oppressed group in society (middle class white heterosexual males). They have no concept of the limits of what normal people will put up with when it comes to their demographic, because they still unconsciously think of themselves as the group that imposes the limits, not the group that submits to them.

It’s going to be interesting to continue to watch it play out.

Even after the shift following MLK's assassination to a more "radical" approach, people like Huey Newton, Bobby Seale etc. would stand in front of crowds in leather jackets and sunglasses, and give bold, impassioned speeches, but when they gave interviews to journalists they would show up in suits, they practiced their orating skills and understood how to speak to vastly different groups of people. They took their image very seriously and had pretty stringent expectations for people who took up their cause. For example the rules of the Black Panther Party stated:

2. Pay fairly for what you buy.

3. Return everything you borrow.

4. Pay for anything you damage.

5. Do not hit or swear at people.

6. Do not damage property or crops of the poor, oppressed masses.

7. Do not take liberties with women.

8. If we ever have to take captives do not ill-treat them.

“Sensibleness” also gets pushed out of the community. Anyone who pipes up with “maybe we should try other tactics than calling our opponents Nazis and threatening to kill them?” gets slammed for “trying to negotiate with people who want us not to exist.”

They are in this weird state of wanting to LARP as characters in a YA novel fighting life-or-death battles, plus so many “leaders” in the movement being actual narcissists for whom being disagreed with seems like oppression.
