Oh God, i think it is in the back in this thread, sorry but will look it up later, But if i recal, in that tumblr/4Chan site about gossip and shittalking about the CA people, there is this story about Linkara being fooled to drink himself shitfaced and that he shoved the comic up his ass, and he answered a question later on that he does'nt drink alcohol because he doesn't have any control over it and that last time he drank he "lost" his most treasured comic book or something along the lines...

EDIT: Maybe it's in the angry critic thread too, there was this link to screens of 4Chan rumours from someone working with their movies, most seemed to be just shit-talk, but the interesting part is that Linky on some occasion mentioned that he doesn't drink.

I used to enjoy Linkara's stuff back in the day, dropped out around the whole entity stuff and seems good I did and even as an analytical experiment to see all the ways this movie fails....I just can't endure the cringe, kudos to everyone giving their reviews so I don't actually have to sit through 2 hours of a manchild wanking himself silly on other peoples money then getting praised for it.

There's losing control and there's getting so utterly shitfaced that you ream yourself with a comic, either Linky was drinking some hardcore shit or this is a case of 'a drunk mans actions are a sober mans wishes'. Either way ick.

What annoys me is in part the pseudo meta bullshit Linkara goes into, as you get the impression he really thinks this is in some way original. It is not. It may work with less "wacky" references than this shit movie "To Boldly Flee", but as much as that was just silly reenactment of Star Wars scenes which they tried to sell as parody, at least I did not feel bored throughout it.
I can't even say this thing is so bad it is good. It is just bad.

And the funny thing is, if that was instead a parody of bad and overly cliched comic book plots, done by someone more competent than Linkara, this thing may have been fucking hilarious. Instead I get the impression Linkara pulled a scheme a la "The Producers" on us. Only we won't even get dancing nazis.

I'm not getting the anatomy of this. A comic book is pretty flimsy even rolled up. Unless his asshole was pretty loosened up for some reason I don't see how this works.

Between Mechakara's inane talking about using humans as supplementary power sources, to Lewis and Marzgurl going all meta. I swear, I almost fell asleep during those moments.

If there's one thing that did shock me, it's that Brad actually swore. Something I didn't expect and assume he just did on his own accord after reading the script. Also is it just me, or are the sets getting worse with each part? Because I swear that most of the bridge was a green screen this time.

Oh no you're right: Linkara just started using a greenscreen instead of a set. They probably couldn't be arsed to film the set, or got kicked out due to pocketing all the money.

Yeah I'm done. I've gotten through the first and the second parts of the movie with little fuss and a great deal of alcohol but I've quit part right near the start. There's a huge blowup between whassername Marzgurl and Lewis. She's "acting" and he's being all weepy.

I couldn't stomach it anymore but I will say this. As bad as the Maradonia movie looks, at least the picture quality is better than this crap.

Considering this is pretty much his day job (last I heard, AT4W was pretty much his sole source of income after he quit his previous job, hence the one rant about ad blockers in a video a while back), that's actually a pretty depressing thought.

Anyhow, I'll admit that I used to watch Linkara a lot back in the day: when I was unemployed for a span of time a few years back, I watched his videos a lot while I was job hunting. I'll admit there are a couple videos of his that I like, and sometimes I think he can make a few good points. He kinda lost me with the storylines and the subject matter he was reviewing just got stale or uninteresting, so I stopped watching not long after. His whole attitude about why he wouldn't even so much as mention the original super sentai material in his 'History of Power Rangers' series was the last straw for me... that was pretty lazy on his part, but whatever.

I will say, he's a whole lot better than Doug Walker and most of the people that are left on Channel Awesome... but that's not saying much.

I dunno, a decent print on good-quality laminated paper is tough enough. That said, I can't really imagine it fitting inside a human anus without causing a fair amount of damage. Paper is surprisingly abrasive, and more importantly why the fuck have you got me thinking about this aaaaahhhh.

If you ask me, Bennet's Anime abandon "reviews" are kind of okay, cause at least he sounds genuine in the sort of praise and criticism he gives a work of fiction. And the stuff he reviews is kind of fascinating in a bizarre way. That said, everytime he does his own "story" type thing and tries to be David Lynch-esque, he sucks.

The only other good thing that came out of TGWTG I can think of was YCPT, as I really liked Justin Carmical. Butwe all know how that sadly ended.

JewWario was cool because his videos were informative and you could tell he enjoyed what he was doing. I think he was actually one of the members of twgtg who made the least money though

Of course he did.Because he was not silly 24/7 and did not try to be funny by reenacting movie scenes like he is related to Seltzer and Friedbger.

That's actually one of the biggest issues I have with Doug Walker and anyone who tries to emulate him to a certain degree: Walker can not for the sake of his life make original comedy. He always relies on shitty reenactment of stuff he reviews and references. Suburban Knight was worse than any Seltzerberg movie in terms of how he threw in references from other fantasy stuff in it (See, it is funny, because they dress up as Link, Potter, Aslan, Gandalf and all these other, easil recognizable fantasy characters! LAUGH MONKEYS, LAUGH!) and To Boldly Flee, while I considered a more coherent story, was just 90% reenactment of some sci fi movie scenes mashed together in a flimsy narrative.

Sure,Carmical did his own story shit down the line eventually with obvious references to the Kamen Rider franchise, but he was doing it more "in spirit" of what he loved and not ripped it off whole say. And that, added with his charm (I admit, he was the kind of guy I really would have loved to share a drink with) and sincerity in his work made him one of the better reviewers on that site.
And what is the best we have there today?
I guess that Chris Tuckmann guy or whoever reviews current movies now.
