That's probably part of it. I also do think the dudes who go down this path lose normal sexual patterns and sex becomes a lot more of just some performative social media thing, with little connection to actual sexual activity. They get (quasi sexually) excited about tweeting about gross sex stuff a lot more than the prospect of the actual act, so any actual hetereosexual / homosexual tendencies matter a lot less.
