Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

I tried reading Donny Cates's new Hulk Run. Bruce Banner has turned the Hulk into a "Starship" that he's "piloting" and is powering it by keeping the hulk in his psyche or something.

It's funny that Cates turned out to be one of the more public faces in terms of ComicsGate enemies. He's taking the corpse of a 70 year old character and just absolutely desecrating it. This is the follow up to the Immortal Hulk and it's shit. Just fucking stupid.

If there's anyone that would have benefited from CG it would have been him. He's stuck in a place that severely limits his creativity, and gives him nothing but old shit he's clearly not interested in to play with. Cates has a lot of stupid ideas and he's stretching them to their absolute limits, either due to the saturation of superhero shit, or just not being very interested in them in the first place. His run on Venom for example had the title character combine Mjolnir and the Silver Surfer's board into a Venom logo shaped axe. While wielding The Power Cosmic. No new idea here other than to throw everything he could into a blender and serve up a shit smoothie.

Cates sucks. If anything his work is a stolid reminder of how important it is to attempt to develop new IP and not go after a comfy job at the big two hoping some other sjw idiot starts up a union. Or else you might start flying the corpse of the Hulk around through multidimensions or whatever.

Rest in Peace to Testefy HD, if he is truly dead. @TESTEFY-HD You were a fucking retard with nothing better to do than yell at people online. I do not remember your good deeds, and I'd rather forget the evil ones. I'll let you be judged accordingly and by everyone else, but for me I'll just enjoy the silence.

While Frog goes through the process of bereavement, the SS Comicsgate is in safe hands with Jon Malin as acting captain:

Chris has lost a lot of weight since I last saw him, yet he still looks to be in terrible health. Is this natural weight loss or alcohol-induced digestion failure?
I used to watch his videos every week until he did the Jack Kirby inker video, blew up then unraveled because of his "crippling depression".
At some point he started looking like an anxious corpse in his video. It is not his weight, he looked healthier when he was a fat nerd because he tried to appear as a happy go lucky dude back then.
He even says that "depression made me join that superhero group". Guess Tom King can make a comic about his year there...

I shall miss Randall and his merry banter when he'd try to pick fights, accuse randos of pedophilia and try to ruin their lives. I'm sure he would have loved my latest book, 'Derpy Divulgences: Volume 226 of the Shitpunk Wars'! Available at all good crowdfunding sites! Order your copy now!

Jon, I begin to suspect that you may be some variety of monster.

Well, I guess it's official now... at least as far as KF is concerned.

BTW, does anybody have the clip of him screaming at and bullying that person with a speech impediment who may have been legitimately mentally retarded? This discussion got me thinking the other day that might be the second worst thing I ever saw him do.

Which time? It's not as if it only happened once.

The one where he went "Oh waaah waaah waaah!" and the kid was in tears. I think it happened after the Stupocalypse, and you and Dean covered it briefly at some point.

I remember it was pretty gross when I heard it. Bloodsports is one thing, but it has sports in the title. He didn't seem very sporting there.

I'm really struggling to understand whats happening on that page, and this is after reading your description. I have to clear one thing up: Is Bruce physically inside Hulk, piloting him like some kind of flesh Gundam? Because if so that is without question one of the strangest approaches to reinventing a character I have ever seen.
If he's just remote piloting him like a Warframe, that's still kinda dumb but not nearly as bizarre.

Shouting at a retarded person on a CG livestream is a day ending in -y

Funny and true.

However, I don't think this was a CG stream. Testefy trolled more than just CG. And I'm not joking the person in question was seemed legit retarded. As in more retarded than even Berserk Guts.

It's like the difference between "KiwiFarms autism," and actual medically diagnosed autism. I'm genuinely talking about the latter here.

"Bruce Banner has somehow managed to split the hulk into three distinct parts: The Hulk's body has been turned into a starship. Banner's psyche pilots it from with the Hulk's Mind and the Hulk's Psyche fuels the starship with his anger which banner harnesses by locking hulk in the Engine Room and sending escalating levels of opponents for him to fight" - That is how the book describes it.

There isn't any real "deep" explanation beyond that. The Hulk has metal stuff on the outside of the body. The Hulk seems to be the same size as before. Banner is somehow piloting inside him as if its a space ship but its not clear physically how all this is happening. The first issue just basically says whats in that quoted paragraph and moves on.

It also starts with the premise that Banner is the "bad guy" and that Hulk exists to protect the world from Banner. That the hulk existed to force Banner to control his "rage" which would lead him to do horrible things if he didn't control it. The Banner character has been reduced to the cliche of the dick mad scientist who wants to go become god or something.

Its an original way of turning an old character inside-out, but I don't see much story potential in it. In the first three issues, they just end up in another cliche story where Space Hulk is in some alternate reality where there is another Banner who is equally evil and who destroyed his world. The whole "bit" with the Hulk in the "engine room" just seems to be there so that they can insert imaginary fights between the Hulk and something in each issue as a sort of action filler.

Boring.

Is it me or are the gators actively stealing madattheinternet topics?

Dean and Vikki have taken both Ralph, PPP, and Vito over the last couple of months.

The Poz show is worse, with Smug literally lifting from the last MATI stream (antiwork/RalphvMet slap fight).

Maybe its the quest for content?

Comicsgate isn't providing it.

You need only look at the cringe titled "comicgate is comicslategreat" for evidence of that. Supposedly posting 'highlights' of comicsgate, most of the material is from years ago and what little is within the last year or two is boring as fuck.

Guys. Guys. Wanna watch a fat, drunk tard making awkward passes at an e-thot for fifty minutes? How about Shane Davis falling over because he's too drunk to sit in a chair and not all because he was knocked over by how awful Mandy Summer's voice is.

But not everything is looking down. CG even has its own wannabe MCJarbo!

Holy shitburgers, that sounds awful. I'm pretty indifferent to The Hulk, after trying to like him for years and then coming to accept that I didn't care about the character, only to really like The Immortal Hulk run. I considered giving this Donny Cates run a chance because his Venom run was good but decided that Immortal Hulk was bottled lightning and I wasn't going to care about Hulk again any time soon.

Yes.

I can't really blame any of them for doing it, but when they step outside criticism of CG (a niche topic) they're gonna be facing some extremely tough competition. People in the Ralph sub-forum are already poking fun at Cog and Spectre commentating the Ralph saga.

Looks like Jeff Hicks from World Class Bullshitters is having a little trouble getting his new comic Wokebusters fully funded.
The entire concept of that comic is more late than just about any of the numerous late CG books.

2016 called, Jeff. They want their SJW controversy back. They also said you're fat gorilla like Leslie Jones.

I wonder if his old friend @FROG will come to his aid in his hour of need and fire up a stream and put him over the top...
I'd rather see him prop up Lightbringer, though I don't think that technically HAS a goal. That would actually be "haha funny" instead of "WTF is this shit you're shilling now funny."

They just plugged it on the JACK Show.

...speaking of, Jeremy from The Quartering just showed up.

QUESTION: Are there people in this sector of the Internet that legitimately don't know what a lying crapartist Liam is, or do they know but just don't give a fuck?

I've always wondered. You'd have to be either ignorant, completely devoid of self-respect, or REALLY desperate to want Liam shilling your stuff.
