Honestly i'm just waiting for @Archive to finish the archive and i'll drop the sub. i've only been there since the checklist got to "test stream" to listen to the back catalog. i enjoy listening to the early stuff, but its clear he perfected his show post-2012. 2015-2018 is a golden era. the first years are him emulating radio and being semi-forced to transform the show into what it is today. the Dean era from 2008 onwards is great because his co-hosts understand they're straight men to his performance rather than vice versa during the comedian years. Although the lack of pushback is annoying. You can see his ability to impersonate and mock people are all there.

Just wished someone uploaded the prank call archive, the lost era was like AE/metokur/SA/b in terms of trolling and mocking without disregard, imagine how bad you have to fuck with people to get arrested for hatespeech in the 2000s.

Didn't realize how much Mike hated asians either, that doesn't come up all that much in the fools era, really enjoy him as a youngster too. He clearly tries a fuckload back then. rather than just doing whatever feels right.

Picture is from this old Redbar blogspot that someone posted in a completely unrelated thread. Seemed worth sharing here for a glimpse at old Redbar. I don't really think there was anything particularly interesting in here but I love internet time capsules. Seems there used to be a lot of live stuff going on, I'm assuming at the Redbar comedy club.

its crazy how different everyone looks from their voices. David looks like he should be a skater but his voice makes him sound like a cowboy turned borscht belt comic. James Fritz sounds like he should look like a Dave England type guy, long shaggy blonde hair tiny cock instead he's a big southern boy. Mike clearly looks the oldest. Jordan Vogt-Roberts looks completely different to the one we see today, really shows different eras of artsy douchebag. Nice Peter looks exactly how i felt he looked.

I'd honestly love if someone could upload a complete archive of 2007-2010ish because I know that Mike's wiped out a fair bit of those episodes from the Barmy/Archive or whatever it's called now. These were (in my opinion) the golden years of Red Bar and I listened to it obsessively, bought the merch, etc. I was also in high school for most of that time, so who the fuck knows how its aged. If anyone has any questions about the show's timeline around then, co-hosts, Kyle, Comedy Club shit, Mike's ex and Dean, I have a bunch of knowledge of it.

what were the viewership numbers like, i know he probably had thousands of fans but how many were watching at once, the way he makes it sound he got 2k+ live, which is fucking amazing for that era, Null can rarely reach that number and Redbar was knocking those numbers in 2007 when a good chunk of people were still using DSL. also about Mike's exs why did they break up?

watching old clips from back then, its crazy how small the set up was, mike and dean on laptops set up like they're playing battleship, and one side apple computer. Why does he need all this bullshit when the entire studio was in a fucking storage closet for about a decade.

Can anyone confirm if Sven and Ashley are actually feuding with Mike? I've heard something about a now deleted Sven streams and seen an out of context clip but there's no real proof of it. I wouldn't be surprised given Mike's track record though, if he isn't it's just a matter of time.

He’s still in the BBG and regularly promotes new episodes of his podcast there. Mike wouldn’t let that fly if they were feuding.

There was some event that happened a couple years back that made Mike delete any mention of Sven from the archives, but I'm not sure what. He's still in videos, though I think some were taken down, but there is no mention of him by name. In video descriptions he's just called "animator".

He changed Svens name to the animator in the archive after Sven made the COVID-19 animation making fun of Chinese people. He was getting doxxed and harassed and I believe he asked mike to take his name down to avoid clipping of the eps or damage happening to mike. That’s what I remember at least.

the biggest tell its not jules is that the photo is from 2010, she'd be too old for Mike right now if she was 21 in 2010, plus the whining about him knowing her as a teenager would have been even more absurd, he only had 500 regular viewers in 2008, and roughly 9 women.

one of the funniest things of comedy club Mike is that you could tell he only had an 8th grade education, people would constantly say things and Mike would call them out if it went over his head and because he had so little book learning that meant a lot of normie stuff was considered "intellectual" by him. He could barely read the chat and struggled to read news articles. No wonder he had such a huge teenage fanbase, he literally still had the brains and maturity of a teenager.
