Here's something I don't really get about this shit. Even if one assumes that a celebrity is available for dating with their fanbase, only one fan would ultimately be able to get with them. So even if they did get with the subject of their parasocial relationship, every other person with a parasocial relationship would be pissed off at them.

This is somewhat similar to the calli drama and my opinion remains the same.
They sell a fantasy and they dont get to be pissed when fans react negatively to them breaking it.

It's the effect where say a nurse takes care of multiple patients and while one patient knows that, he thinks she's being sweeter to him than the others. (In reality she's just being sweet to them all.) There's a really good line in the A Perfect Circle cover of "The Nurse Who Loved Me" that talks about it.

Edit: The idea is, while there's a whole audience of people, a lot of these chats have no inter-mingling. Especially a lot of chats have rules about no small talk between viewers, so the streamer has people talking to them to bounce off of.
