It's because this one doesn't have handlers under their Machiavellian control. I spent a good amount of time during the Summer Of Love laughing at the paranoid boomers stockpiling ammo and beans thinking the rioting shit would happen in their backyard. Their local authorities weren't in on the larp. It was all a show put on by politicians and the media. It all happened with the blessing of many powerful people. All of it.

This, however, is taking a protest to a place where the locals are strongly opposed to it. It is shattering their illusions of control and what "protesting" is. This is the first time in a very long time that someone has poked them back. That people are being exposed to an actual organic act of civil disobedience that didn't sprout from some political party's ulterior motives.

This is why they are absolutely losing their shit about it.
