Getting arguments from liberals that the Canadian government has the right to protect their borders with vaccine mandates, and comparing it to other countries that do it for shit like malaria. If you're pro border control then why isn't this acceptable. Ignoring that the convoy isn't even primarily/only about that and hasn't been for a while.
I can't take this anymore lol
These people have lost their minds. Governments don't have rights. A government is not a person. The government has the ability to and the duty to do what is in the best interest of the people for better or for worse. In a democracy, you cannot take extreme measures and you cannot oppress dissenting opinions. Libs opposing the protests have had their brains snapped in half by the pandemic because it's not just about the pandemic anymore. It's about a government that wants to silence an opinion, wants you to stop talking about your opinions, and wants you to obey without any question whatsoever to "earn" your freedoms "back".
How ANYONE in a democratic society can look at these actions and believe it's ok is so far beyond me that I feel myself going insane just trying to reason with it any more. "but muh people aren't responsible, so we have to vaccinate them by coercion". To any nigger politicians reading this: responsibility for my safety has never been the job of others. Managing my own risk has never been the job of others. We give people cars, guns, ropes, knives, duct tape, fireworks, pressure cookers, alcohol, lighters... You can't just take away shit because someone repurposed it as an object of malice. We don't nerf the world because morons exist.
The fact of the matter is that vaccines for things like Malaria when travelling somewhere that has a high probability of propagating such a disease to you as a traveller is sensible. The malaria vaccine works, the science is available to all of us, and we can make that decision for ourselves. If you don't want a Malaria vaccine, unfortunately you don't have the privilege to travel to malaria ridden shitholes, which sounds like a net positive to me anyway. The flip side of this is that the COVID vaccine has provably awful efficacy, is a newer tech that hasn't been used for vaccines before, and has not been tested the way things have in the past. This leads me to one of two conclusions: the vaccine is so impotent and ineffective to the point that it can't harm you at all, but also provides virtually no protection. This would explain the rapid rollout and coercion mandates for the vaccine. The other conclusion is that this vaccine has some serious risk somewhere down the line, and the scientific studies that are contrary to "experts" are being hidden from me on purpose.
Oh, and who decides who experts are now? Just remember that any doctor that is anti-vaccine mandate has been stripped of that title and role and therefore is no longer an "expert" on the topic. Checkmate chuds.
Edit so I don't spam: Haven't we (as the human race) previously determined that some viruses (i.e. the common cold) are simply not worth trying to vaccinate against? Vaccinating against a virus will just cause that virus to eventually generate a mutation that works around said vaccination. The flu does this every year, sometimes more. We offer flu vaccines because the flu can kill you, but the flu vaccine can also create major side effects. Each individual manages their own risk and determines if medical side effects OR the sickness are the lesser of the two evils. While from the start we could argue that the virus was unpredictable, that no longer is the case, and it seems to fit in nicely with the other constantly mutating minor diseases that permeate our society.
What we're doing now, 2 years later, doesn't make sense in the context of who we are as citizens; doesn't make sense in the context of recent studies and scientific findings; does not make sense to anyone with common sense remaining. I am nigh certain that every person in the west has had more taken away by the mandates, rules, and overreach than the coronavirus. "but muh grandma". Grandma's on the way out anyways, dude. You could walk in with pneumonia, bronchitis, a sinus infection, the flu, etc. pre-symptoms and kill her anyway. You think grandma wants to sit alone in a bubble while the world cries in agony? Older people who still have their major faculties in place have chosen assisted death over living through this. This is total misery no matter how you cut it.
