Canadian Truckers Convoy 2022 - The Leaf calls you a Nazi as he gasses you

Trudeau is hosting a press conference right now and besides all the word salad he's basically confirming nothing is going to happen: military won't be called out, police will get everything they need (they still haven't lol), government says the protestors have been heard and it's time to go home - and if they don't by gosh by golly oh gee they're going to get hammered under the law.

Or in other words, they really hope the fear of potential charge and arrest will scare everyone away. Might wind up disappointed on that front :story:
He's doing worse than admitting nothing will happen, he is threatening children now. "Consequences on protestors and their families will be great if they don't leave"

And they think this will make them give up? By making sure they have nothing to lose?

I suppose history does rhymes.
The left doesn't believe in unintended consequences. No one has agency except them. Nothing can change except what they change. Changes they make are only allowed to affect things they want to affect.

Defund the police? Clearly, the cops will just have to do the same with less. Crime can't go up, the quality of service can't go down. Obviously.

Re-fund the police? Of course not. Only leftists can make changes, and the only changes that are possible are leftward changes. Forever towards progress, that's why it's called progress -- it's one direction.

Gut the trucking industry? Well the existing truckers will just have to drive more and move bigger loads, or the industry will just have to hire more people! The idea that this might affect the industry's ability to provide service is literally impossible for these idiots to consider.

But how would that even work?

There was already a substantial trucking shortage and major logistical problems before any of this happened and even the most wealthy and connected depend greatly on overland shipping.
The government actually already passed changes back in May 2021 that makes it even easier for them to just import a billion Indians to drive the trucks as Temporary Foreign Workers (who will get enticed because they're now going to be guaranteed citizenship if they work for long enough, even if the conditions and pay are shit)

They already did this, they had to raise standards after a bus full of teenagers were killed by an unqualified driver.
That's in the past. Until they get robo-trucks, and I can guarantee you Tesla will get a grant soon to set up 18 wheelers with their driving systems, they'll HAVE to do something to dilute and ultimately destroy the political power of the Honkers.

Kind of like this?

Geez... can't they just throw them all in the trailer trucks and drive them to the camps to await execution. These Maple Flavored country bumpkins should be fuelling ovens by now

I can't wait until Tesla self-driving trucks are a reality. Spray paint some road markings in front of it to trick it to drive into a ditch, then loot it. Black-box adversarial attacks are a fun way to pass the time.

At this point if I were the truckers I wouldn't leave until every COVID measure was not only rescinded but codified into law as not being allowed/able to happen ever again regardless of any future public health emergency. I'd refuse to move for a few months after any such hypothetical laws come into effect, just to keep them honest. Now you're probably thinking "Oh but the government will just do it anyway because when illegality stopped them?" and you'd be absolutely right. However the consequence of the government doing that should be this whole event repeating. And the truckers should clearly point this out. Maybe even allude that they'll skip occupying cities and just block every sea port, airport, and important bridge next time.

Wanted to say the same thing last night when I saw they were re-blocking Coutts/Milk River for, what... the THIRD TIME? Naw... at this point you gotta stop and just demand ALL RESTRICTIONS/MANDATES are IMMEDIATELY (not in a week) removed, demand IMMEDIATE resignation from Troondeau, and demand IMMEDIATE legislation codifying in law something prohibiting the return of ANY "emergency" powers to enact mandates and restrictions again.

PARK HARDER, truckers!

Apologies if this is a stupid question, but I'm wondering if the truckers can make sure any agreement to end the lockdowns and mask mandates can't simply be reneged once they leave.
I don't think they can, short of forcing parliament to pass a law that says specifically that they will be doing X. (or repealing X, as it were).

What they can do, is threaten an ever more serious blockade if the promises are reneged, but that's dependent on them being able to carry it out if they haven't already been blackbagged.

This one gives me an extra case of the warm fuzzies cause it was conceptualized by lefties trying to capture the spirit of offshoot Christian cults and flyover state CHUD culture, only for it to be unironically adopted by the right, and no amount of neither smugness nor seething will change that. It's a modern parallel to what Yankee Doodle was in during the American Revolution: a song composed by royalist sympathizers to mock their opposition, only for said opposition to co-opt it into a folk song that has survived for centuries with lasting co-opted intent.

They can't if the Canadian government doesn't give a shit about it's legitimacy (which we've saw no indication that it does). They've just gotta be ready to hop back in their trucks to do it again if Trudy decides to do anything fucky.

Love the song. That being said, I think this one is better for the protest. Plus there's no scary "Rifle" lyrics for the MUH INSURRECTION MUH TERRORISM media.

That being said, there's a lyric about "pistols" maybe not. I still feel this one gives a "You can crush us now, but we'll be back"

The Canadian government literally already did this once, to the farmers. Don't know the details, it was mentioned a few dozen pages back.

The best solution for the Truckers would be to demand an immediate end to the state of emergency. That would destroy the Government's emergency COVID powers, which a lot of this "lets make up new laws just to fuck with you" stuff is coming from.

Yes, they'll jump at the gun to try and reinstate the emergency later, but at least they'd have to pay a political price for that.

I just wanted to say that what abp. Viganò said is the most whitepilling thing I have seen in years, it was so unbelievably based I had to look it up because it seemed like one of those Q schizo conspiracies in the vein of "Trust the plan pedes, Trump is going to call in the military any moment now!!!!!!" I had 100% lost faith in the Catholic church and this gave me a small, tiny, tiny taste of what it would be like to set foot out of Current Year™️ and go back to life as it was.

Something else I find funny is that just a short while ago I was asking people in the Waukesha parade massacre thread why it is that in the US the population seems so averse to peaceful methods of protest like strikes and picket lines because, to me, it seemed that when anyone said something about protesting and wanting to be heard by the government they were called a glowie online. Nobody gave me an answer to that. And, goddamn, it's such a bless to have Canada of all countries lead the example to all of us. I seriously thought if Clown World was going to die it would be due to the incompetence of TPTB and only after a series of mass massacres to protest against the establishment alike to McVeigh, things seemed so dire and now I finally see a dim light at the end of the tunnel.

God bless, Canadians. Unironically praying for you all. 📿
