What are you playing right now?

Currently playing Tomb Raider 2 on an emulator, played the 1st one in 2020 on my PS3.
Never got the chance to play this series as a kid and I'm having a blast now! Lara is so badass, what an iconic protag.

Finished Not For Broadcast, a fun FMV game about running the A/V stuff on a live news program. I am a sucker for FMV games so it was a pretty easy sell for me. The humor is very dry British, so YMMV there.

Playing Neon Abyss now. Cool roguelike, nice aesthetic. But not very challenging. You can blunder your way through it and still beat every boss.

I've been playing Grandia 1 between Master Duel sessions. It's jank as FUCK, but something about how wholesome the game's overall aesthetic pulls me back in
I'm off and on playing that one too. It's very jank compared to Grandia II, but the story and setting are supremely comfy.

Edit: Post is not edit, whoops.

Witcher 3. I actually tried it a while back, but I was playing a bunch of different games at the same time, and for some reason I couldn't really get the hang of it.

After a while, I cleansed the palate, reinstalled it and now I'm enjoying it. In fact, I'd say it is one of the best games I've played in a while. Going around picking funny herbs and monster bits to cook fantasy meth is something not a lot of games do, and while it's a bit tedious sometimes, it gives me plenty to do when i don't feel like doing the main quest. And that's besides all the other random shit you can stumble into that isn't on official sidequests or contracts.

Merchants can suck a dick, though.

I'm trying to 100% Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga in light of the upcoming game (interested in seeing how they'll adapt Episodes I-VI to the new gameplay style, but cautious for how the Sequel Trilogy could be an albatross). The game was grindier than I expected, it expects you to go through each chapter at least four times (two of which are basically speedruns). I'm at 90% and about to wrap up Episode III & IV, then I'll do the bounty hunter missions to complete the game, but I'm never doing this again for this game.

Maybe I'll go through Lego Star Wars III again since I like the Clone Wars content.

I was playing Expedition Rome but the conquest part becomes so horribly boring that I haven't touched it in a week. The developers are promising to update the legion battles plus some quests that people didn't like so I figure I might as well just wait now.

I tried to do that same but the longplay part stopped me in my tracks, I really don't want to do those.

The levels themselves can be done fast if you focus on the puzzles, but it was still tedious to have to speedrun the story since you had to do the same thing for the blue minikit challenges. Completing the game would've been much more enjoyable if it was just the story and free play modes, especially since the super stories and challenges don't even reward gold bricks.

Thankfully, III doesn't have those two things, so completing that one should be less tedious.

Playing the shit out of MHR on steam still. I have a build with the Nargacuga LBG and so far its destroyed shit no problem but I'm working on one for the wildfire despot since I heard slicing is even crazier.

I enjoy most of the game but I'm not a fan of rampages. I'm the kind of person who prefers soloing hunts unless I play with my friends and im far ahead of them now at HR68. What pisses me off is that if I want to make crit boost decos I HAVE to do rampages to unlock apex rathalos for the parts. Fuck.
Pubbies in this game suck. One of my friends decided to make an open hunt and this guy comes in who does jack shit and im doing most of the damage, breaking parts and then at the end he bitches about how he "carried" us. He was using a charge blade I think, me and my friend were both ranged. Guess he thought he was better than us because we were using "meta" weapons (I just happen to like LGB, HGB and bow). The next open hunt had this guy who gathered resources the whole time and my friend asked wtf he was doing and the guy gets super defensive.

When I'm not playing MH I play Super Robot Wars J. Fun game but man the reinforcement spam is just...bleh.

Had a relapse and logged back into LoL for the first time in year and a half. Lost three matches in a row. People there are still the same. Ugh... but I still want to play it more.

War for the Overworld. Haven't played any games in a long time, so it's taking me a while to get back into the swing of it.

Picked up Pokemon Legends Arceus. So far not bad, though that could be because I haven't played a Pokemon game since Sapphire. A shame it's not real time battles but Pokemon has always been one of the turn based RPG franchises I've been okay with because it won't randomly pull out moves that kill you if you have less than 90% of your health.

Been dipping into some of the stuff Epic gave away and playing 20XX last couple of days. Its a roguelite Mega Man clone. Typical indieshit trying to capitalise off of a well known IP.

In the space of about 4 hours I went from thinking the game is alright to it firmly going into the "wont ever play again" camp, mostly because of the inconsistent difficulty. Now I don't mind a challenge but there is balanced difficulty and there is bullshit and this game has a bit too much of the latter for my liking. Its apparently procedurally generated but from what I could tell the levels are built from set blocs because even in the short time I played I kept seeing the exact same platform patterns in levels and there were far too many hazards and enemy placements where it was literally impossible to get past them without taking a hit. At one point I guess the RNG level generator spazzed out and I was in a bottle neck with 4 different enemies on the other side which were impossible for me to hit but would hit me if I got close, no way to get trough and run was ended.

To me it looks like the devs couldn't figure out how to make the game genuinely challenging and instead went for the "spam the scree with loads of shit" option. Some people might enjoy it but I don't find that type of thing very fun.

Dark Age of Camelot freeshard Celestius, no need to grind templates, RR5 ability at 50, ROG drops cap all stats, one TOA encounter gives you all TOA stats, one dragon encounter gives ML10 credit, Champ level 5 and enough currency to get two artis. Max 3 artis. I like the concept of not grinding for RvR, but solo visi's get fucking shrecked by Vampiirs still. Still fun, good little taste of an old school MMO. Live isnt worth the sub cost.

Just finished Star Wars : Fallen Order and the last campaign mission for Daemon x Machina. SW:FO is a nice Dark Souls Lite, really short though, like most story games nowadays. Would be better if whoever designs SW games would realize linear progression is old school.

Daemon x Machina I'm glad I got for free, it feels incomplete. Needs more of everything, it's Armored Core blasting at its best. Most missions are over WAY too soon, a lot of the briefings take as long as the mission itself.

Currently playing through Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. Even with save states, it's tougher than a mug, but that just makes the feeling when you finally overcome a tough section/boss all the more satisfying. About halfway through right now (latest dungeon completed is Maze Island).
