What are you playing right now?

I like the idea of a remake over say another game set in the same world. I'm running the Drog Blacktooth mod expansion and there is so much more to the game than I remembered.
Since your playing through Planescape have you thought of playing Torment after? If you haven't played it yet I highly recommend.
Troika games have a lot of potential for remakes, and all of them really need it.

I haven't played Torment yet, and I really didn't had any intentions to play in the future. I heard (from the RPG Codex) that Numenera is really bad.

I've been playing thru FF6 for the first time on my mini SNES when I can find the time for it. Right now I'm about to head over to the sealed gate so I guess that puts me halfway thru the game.

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey. Getting chased by a predator in this game is terrifying. One second you're on a date with the hottest girl in the jungle and BAM. An eagle is ready to end humanity before it even began.

The game doesn't even wait for you to get comfy. It starts with a chase sequence where you're controlling a baby. First time I did this, I ran like hell through the jungle until I blindly leaped off a tree into the safe arms of my clan's hideout.

That's fair the game has it's issues but it definitely scratches a Planescape shaped itch.

After finishing 2 playthroughs of Deus Ex: Human Revolution (a blind first run then a nonlethal-hacker build), I jumped into Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and was sorely disappointed. I hated every single aspect of MD so much so that I promptly deleted it after the (unskippable!) end credits were done rolling, HR on the other hand I absolutely loved start to finish and I plan on doing a perfect stealth run to get that platinum. I haven't played the original Deus Ex yet, but when I eventually do I'm playing GMDX.
HR was just way better in general. I love the cyberpunk prague setting but Human Revolution felt way less tedious and rehashed.
The casino level in Cruelty Squad is living up to the game's title. Fuckin Golems....
I really, really, want to like this game. I love everything about it but playing it. I guess that's the point.
Finally set up my Oculus Quest 2. I am looking forward to playing games like Boneworks and Half Life Alyx.
I bought a PSVR on sale a few years ago, and while it's really neat I have two problems with it. One is the PSVR is low res enough it makes everything look like actual ass. The other is that you look like a complete and total fucking idiot using it. Like I'd have that thing on in my living room, my roommate would come home, and just immediately burst out laughing at how fucking stupid it looks. Like "oh hey Neo, sorry to get in your way, I didn't realize you were jacking in to cyberspace and trying to hack through corporate ICE. Sorry, me and my girlfriend will go have sex somewhere else and you can get back to it"

I thought about Oculus but I'd imagine it would be the same experience but for more money

I don't blame anyone who gets put off by it either visually or gameplay wise. At first it was a hard pass for me on the aesthetics thing, but after actually getting the hang of it, it just sorta melted into the subconscious for me. It's a niche' as hell game, but I do encourage anyone who can try it to at least give it a few minutes.

Oh, and I've cleared the Casino, on The Office level. For some reason, I can never pull off the getaway. I'm also paying it forward on Nioh, helping new players with some of the harder bosses and in turn getting the hang of my new build.

I'm kind of the opposite, I love the aesthetics of it and just generally how fucking bonkers it is. But I can only stomach it for like 10 minutes at a time because of how stressful it is to actually play.

Same time I admire it's willingness to absolutely torture its players. I don't even mean that in like "oh hey this game is hard" like Dark Souls, I mean "this game is not only hard, it's actively trying to cause a mental breakdown, and when you think it cant get weirder and more obtuse it always does"

Even if I didn't personally like the game, I'd still respect it massively; it gives me hope that game designers are willing to take risks and do something distinct, even if it's distinct in such a gruesome way.

>A week before the final storm of the campaign.
>Automated coal and wood production, we're all good.
>Except kinda low on food. I put off the airship tech for awhile to combat the growing cold.
>Get about a weeks worth of food for the storm.
>People get frightened and steal hundreds of rations, 3 days left only.
>Forced to use sawdust and soup as the storm is right on us.
>They call me the bad guy.

You can't remake Arcanum in this day and age, no way someone doesn't shit their pants over the halfling/half ogre conspiracy.

There's too much moral and ethical nuance in the decisions you are able to make for people to handle today.

I've been replaying the MegaMan Legends series, and even tho it hasnt aged well gameplay wise, at least the first game, I still love them, the games are so charming, the characters are so fun, the art is fantastic, the music is awesome, and the second game is no joke one of the most underrated games on the ps1 if you ask me

Master Duel. I play off-meta decks or meta-adjacent decks, it is pure pain, but I have clawed my way to Platinum somehow. I compromised and made an Invoked Galaxy Deck, I've banished so many Eldrich's.

Super Robot Wars J. First time through, went with the Granteed because apparently real robots are busted in this game and enemies won't even attack you if your mobility is too high. Welp.

WorldBox, a new god simulator (still in early access).

In a few short hours, I have:
  • Started numerous wars
  • caused a zombie apocalypse
  • genocided a whole kingdom with a single napalm strike
  • held a human/elf/dwarf/orc thunderdome on an isolated island
  • Created a giant land bridge by sending a cloud of lava-rain over the sea
  • Sunk ships by filling the ocean with piranhas
  • Assassinated kings with landmines
  • Leveled villages with volcanoes, meteors, and giant bowling balls.

The Wasteland Trucker.
A Jalopy/My Summer Car/The Long Drive kinda game where you pretty much play as a gopnik with a truck, transporting goods around a fairly big world. Cheap and early access, with all the survival mechanics you'd expect these days. But I like it so far.

I'm currently obsessed with Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen and Project Zomboid.

Everyone knows Dragon's Dogma needs a sequel, so there's not much to talk about there. It's amazing. Project Zomboid was originally a huge letdown for me. (The game has been in development for almost a decade and it isn't finished.) But despite missing a lot of elements a game this old should already have (like fucking NPCs and goals in single player), there's something really compelling about it. As a kid I dreamed of games this complex and huge... big, post-apocalyptic cities and farmlands to explore that decay in real time, hundreds of houses and buildings to scavenge through, barricade, and squat in if you want to, abandoned cars everywhere to commandeer and repair, thousands of zombies shambling around. It kind of has that appeal of Minecraft where the world is fun to explore and you can always find something to do. And the mod support is great.

Unfortunately, there's literally no point to the game. You can't escape the quarantined zone, so you're always going to die eventually. I can't believe they haven't written a story mode yet given the game world they have to set it in. Ah well...
