Canadian Truckers Convoy 2022 - The Leaf calls you a Nazi as he gasses you

I'm not surprised how fast they cracked down on the protesters at the ambassador bridge. A lot of automotive parts come from the Detroit area and into Canada. I'm sure the automotive companies weren't too happy that they can't get shipments accross and caused the US a lot of money too. If @Weeb_Killer is correct that they caused $5 billion in damages, then thats a huge win given thst the Windsor protest wasn't even that large. Which would also explain why the feds were able to disperse them so easily unlike in Coutts where they are still dug in.

Wow, so ultimately the only thing that happened is that some tow trucks showed up and a child got run over by some counter protestor?

This protest is getting wilder everyday.

Also, lol:

How much do you want to bet that lady bitching about illegal occupiers said “no person is illegal” sometime in the past?

Things are getting spicier and spicier.

French riot police charge at protestors at the Champs-Élysées (from @RemyBuisine)...

The grenades were thrown indiscriminately, so people at a café had to deal it (@RemyBuisine)

The French seem a little heavy handed in dealing with protestors. I guess its a national consciousness on what happens when protests succeed and a lack of civilian gun ownership.

They spent all day retreating, only to begin brutally gassing and beating their citizens at night. True heroes.

Not seeing any active streams about Windsor, but it sounds like the protest was unsuccessful in repelling the police presence there? Disappointing, but to be expected due to the economic impact it was making on the automaking corpos.

If anything, it's an acceptable loss, at least for now. The heart of the battle is still with Ottawa, and the crowds there remain strong and disciplined. It'll be much harder for the authorities to break it up.

Police played copyrighted music to get the streams automatically taken down by Sony Music Entertainment, dystopian future is here

The French also are very protest happy. Remember when Macron tried to raise fule prices and then had to deal with over a year of Yellow west protestors? I bet those protests would have gone on if Corona wouldn't have showed up

I took these screenshots on twitter right as KF went down, so they're a few hours old now. The usual patronising mental acrobatics and absolute SEETHE that we know and love.

I particularly like the cope that the reason covid restrictions are lifting in some states is because of the good vaxxed people, the timing is just a damn coincidence and nothing to do with the Blessed Honking.

Continental European protests are phalanx warfare from both sides with molotov cocktails, heavy metal poles/pipes, tear gas, the works. It's a law or something. Both sides are way more violent than you usually see in North America or the UK.

Paris police are known to be some of the most brutal cops in the world when it comes to protests. They have to deal with those constantly so maybe not too surprising.

I suppose. Don’t be sad it’s over, smile because it happened... all $5 billion of it.

Probably a drop in the bucket but damn if it ain’t satisfying. I can only hope Ottawa and Coutts dig in their heels in response.

Windsor was never going to stay up forever, but the fact it held for almost a week is astounding.

There will be some losses on the battle to freedom.

The one mistake they're making is all the fuck trudeau verbiage

if they tell him they love him, forgive him, and will let him go in the bouncy houses, he'll get out there and hug everyone and say he's sorry

Eh I guess, but Trudeau has basically called people who opposed vax mandates racists, homophobes, etc etc etc. So fuck him.

It probably will be more because they have to ensure somehow that the bridge won't be blocked again.

And kinda ironic to see most of the unvaxxed Canucks are black.
The most ironic thing about that last comment is that while Trudeau would like Canadians to assume that all anti-vaxxers are racist, the reality couldn't be further from the truth, because - just like in the US - black Canadians are generally more skeptical of vaccines.

One study from Innovative Research Group showed black Canadians reported vaccination rates that were 20 percentage points below the Canadian average.

Black Canadians also self-reported much lower rates of willingness and confidence pertaining to vaccines.

President Biden has made a similar mistake in the past, and some have credited this dichotomy with influencing the White House to finally dial back its hostile rhetoric toward the unvaccinated.

So, in reality, many of the "anti-vaxxers" Trudeau has condemned as racists are actually black themselves.

I can't imagine business will instantly return to normal either, this kind of instability makes businesses more cautious about investing in Canada right now. Until this matter is broadly solved I think many operations are going to be put on hold. I highly doubt they will be ramping up Car production, for example, after this.

There needs to be strong assurance that Canada is stable again.

No surprise considering Parisian police hire dudes barely intelligent enough to follow orders and baton-happy enough to please their masters.

According to locals I know, below-average scores in police tests can still get you a badge. Considering we're talking about police that went straight for the eyes back in the Gillets Jaunes protests, I wouldn't be surprised.

If there are frogs lurking the thread more knowledgeable than me, do correct me.
