I’ve been to Viet Nam twice and I can say this. There’s no way in hell they’d tolerate him even a little there. Why he ranks it so high if he loves China is also puzzling since basically all Vietnamese are suspicious that China wants to conquer them, yes even the most ardent of Viet Communists. Trannies do exist in Viet Nam but basically have to exist in their own quarter of the town where they’re generally sex workers and otherwise ignored or mocked. Living conditions for poor people aren’t really that good over there. You could easily die of some tropical disease if you aren’t vaccinated against it and the police there are not even trying to hide that they’re corrupt. The people are generally really nice, but then if you’re walking around in a ski mask and bondage gear I am pretty sure that would change in a heartbeat.

I’m actually surprised Cuba wasn’t his number 2 pick considering they’re Latin and Communist and mostly tolerant of LGBT rights. Cuba isn’t like a utopia for sure, but it’s definitely not as bad as say DPRK or even China for him.

But of course all the countries he chose were White, safe European Countries with a good welfare system (okay I don’t really know much about Switzerland, never been or knew anyone from there).

I don't see how China making some scientific discovery would be an embarrassment to the US. There are scientific discoveries that have come from many, many countries. How does that embarrass the US or anyone else? Just doesn't make any fucking sense. I'd also like to point out that most of China's scientific advancements, particularly military advancements, have been either because the Soviet Union/Russia helped them along, or because of industrial espionage, particularly against the US. It wasn't until very recently that China could even make jet engine powerful enough to power their fighter jets. They had to buy them from Russia because their jet engines were underpowered shit. And everything they know about stealth tech they learned from stealing it from the US. Yellow man still needs the White man to do everything for them because of Communist incompetence. Not to mention that the whole COVID pandemic was because some Chinese scientists fucked up containment at a virology lab doing dangerous gain of function research. I don't think Phil should be so fucking smug about the Chinks.

No one country is superior to others. Even the best country in the world, which could be any one of a number of countries depending on who you listen to, could be great at some things and terrible at others. Phil is just sucking off China's wang. In six months he'll have moved onto something else which he feels will somehow make him seem edgy and cool. And we'll still be here laughing at the retard he is.

Oh, absolutely. The Soviets had some great soldiers, particularly their tankers and snipers. But it was in spite of some incredibly glaring shortcomings that even the greatest generals would have been hamstrung by. One of them was Stalin, who didn't care how many soldiers were slaughtered or how unreasonable his demands were. Another was that many of the Soviet soldiers had very little training in actual soldiering because they were conscripted off their farms and thrown at the German war machine. Hell, a lot of the time they were lucky to even have one rifle or SMG for every two soldiers. The ones without the weapons were partnered up to the ones who were armed, tasked with following them until they were killed, then pick up the weapon and keep going. It just blows my mind that people can be so ignorant of history when history has never been easier to access than it is today, and then go on to say "The USSR had a higher casualty rate than the other Allies because they fought the Nazis harder!" It just makes them look so very, very foolish and uneducated.

I've been to switzerland, it's the most socially conservative place in scandinavia. The place has high wages, high taxes and public services run with military precision even in -20c and lower weather. After a week there phil would be screaming to go back to portland, prices are very high over there, which is compensated by wages except he doesn't work. Also they're VERY socially conservative, to give you an example (this was ten years ago). One of my colleagues got a call at work, from the manager of a department store, why you ask? his wife had come in to buy a dishwasher for the home, and on seeing the 'mrs' on her credit card, he insisted on phoning her husband to check he'd authorised it in the household budget. Married women are much less likely to carry on working after having children (and there's a certain social stigma to it) than in the rest of europe.

Oh and as for ACAB? The swiss police are strict as hell, don't like jokes and heavily armed. Seriously walking through a swiss airport is like being processed into gitmo by men with mp5s

I think it’s because Trotsky followed the example of Lenin and basically redefined what a lot of Marxism was about but in a more radical way than Lenin did. Marx cared strongly about the worker. Lenin cared about poor people in general, and Trotsky cared about who he defined as “Marginalized Peoples”. I’ve said this for years but for all his talk of Maoism he’s really a Trotskyist.
