The problem with Louis interviewing Nick was Nick is bright and actually handles himself well. He's confident and comes across really well. If Louis was interviewing an obvious loser that no one could connect too then Louis would not have had a problem connecting to them.

It's why he probably should have made Baked the star of the show and not Nick.

He probably just had no way of connecting himself into someone with such an alien world view to him, no one would claim he was secretly sympathetic to him if he got him to really drop anything good. Nick comes off as a guy who just started life and realizes he's already fucked himself out of anything but the good ending and just pathetic. Baked on the other hand actually got some great kino moments when filming which ended with both yelling at each other that they're only using each other for content and to seethe at one another.

Edit to add:
It would have been far more interesting for Louis to make the connection between Nick being groomed by Beardson and his relationship to Milo another grifter who is horribly self destructive, attention seeking faggot and was also groomed as a kid or How Nicks activities have effected his relationship with his sister. Either or both would have been some really great Kino. Still solid doc

Milo is by his own statement a victim of child sexual abuse. Milo is not a topic for a BBC journalist to approach lightly. I appreciate on one view he is a right wing grifter, but particularly to a non US audience he could easily come across as a deeply damaged young man struggling to deal with childhood trauma. And post-Savile exposure, the BBC has to be ultra careful how it handles anything that looks like victim blaming.

But “these guys met playing Fortnite” was a dog whistle that the normie parents in the audience heard loud and clear. That along with “we are just gamers”. The implication hangs heavy over this documentary: these are the influences your child could meet on the internet.

While you are correct it would be a subject to approach with caution, especially being post Saville that could even be played into if he really did have political motives behind how he approached and framed things what with Saville being a close friend to Thatcher. A bit of the old classic "those uptight right wing types are sexual deviants in denial" with a lead in to the BBC's new show they're planning on doing about Saville . While I do agree Milo may look sympathetic and only be trying to reframe his past abuse in a way he can cope with showing how he turned out and how he acts today would highlight how fringe political beliefs can take advantage of and warp young people. Plus if it were set up right and laid out in front of Nick his reaction would be nothing short of gold.

Nick looked quite scared when Louis opened that line of discourse. I think he was afraid he would bring up the catboy thing or something, but, alas, Louis and his team did not research Nick thoroughly.

They most definitely did know, hence why Louis brought that up, but as Louis is not anti-LGBT it would be a little crass if he directly assaulted him with that and also not in Louis' style. Him calling BA triggered is about as aggressive as he gets in his documentaries.

It could also generate a bit more sympathy for viewers as Nick is clearly a closeted gay man who is insecure with himself and it's not like the Groypers don't already know about this, they just deny it.

Nick's reaction said it all for the casual viewer and a wink from Louis to people who know more about his situation.

  • met Nipples in DC; Nipples might have been attracted to him for being well dressed

Louis is non-confrontational as a strategy. If he was constantly trying to own his subjects with facts and logic he wouldn’t get nearly as close to them. His docile manner gives his unwitting marks the impression they can walk all over him, which makes them less inhibited and reckless in what they’ll allow him to see.

This has been especially effective with “Nazis”, whose egos can’t resist the opportunity to assert their flimsy machismo over a Jewy leftoid bugman.

I used to wonder why he kept people like Baked and Beardson around, not knowing if he did it out of spite because people kept warning him about them, or because he genuinely didn't see the harm of associating with them. But since the addition of Ethan Ralph to the Cozy.tv roster I realized he simply loves having dicksuckers orbiting him, no matter how damaging they are to his brand.
