For me in current day, the only good, longer lasting games for the original Xbox were the Ninja Gaiden series, Jet Set Radio Future and the Unreal Tournament Series.

We should have several of these threads for Xbox all going at the same time with dumb, vague, confusing names. Should I be posting in the Series H(ate) thread or the Series S(tupidity) thread or the Xbox Stupidity and Hate Thread 1 which is actually like the third or fourth thread?
Just post in the Windows 11 thread.

I'm perfectly happy with my Game Pass sub. Great selection of games at a good price. But my bitch is with the technicals of how it works.

First thing is that the drive games are put on must be NTFS formatted. Far as I'm aware, the only thing I've ever used barring the OS is cool with EXFAT, which is why I bulked up on external drives and never had a problem before. So after getting Game Pass I had to dump some money into getting a large SSD.

Second, unless modding is officially supported, the folders are completely locked down. I've been fucked at least once due to not being able to replace a dll.

I don't know, Forza Motorsport was solid. But you're right about those excellent late-OG Xbox games.

The latest Motorsport game, FM7, was very glitchy on launch, and many considered it to be the weakest game in the Forza franchise. (and we don't talk about Forza Street) The fact that Turn 10 hasn't released any information about the new Forza Motorsport game, while Polyphony Digital already announced the release date for Gran Turismo 7 (March 4, 2022), is very concerning as well.

If I remember right they are completely rebooting the series with the new Motorsport to specifically re-focus on the motorsport aspect and be more simulation than it was before. I can give them a pass on taking a while since they're completely retooling the engine and unlike Polyphony their game will probably have a shitton of cars and not have an absolutely autistic mindset when it comes to online where you have to fucking wait in line to play like GT: Sport did.

yeah when i had game pass for a short while, this was some bs

Very sad to see xbox as a game company became so shitty their identity is the Netflix of games because no one wanted to pay for 80% of the overpriced microsoft store shit anyway. I think the main thing that put the nail in the coffin for em was that the developers from their two biggest ip's split and are now doing extraordinarily well on their own. It's also kinda wild to imagine how the landscape would look if epic and bungie still had contracts with microsoft.

Look guys "games" man really cares for the gamers™️:

Oof:

At this point it is better to start counting the days when he will be replaced by some resentful Indian that will sink the entire brand for good...

They call it the Netflix of gaming because there's more stuff you DON'T want.

I got Game Pass free for 1yr with my phone contract, and this is the first time I've had an Xbox, so I'm enjoying playing older Xbox games that I never had a chance to before. Halo is pretty sweet, and Morrowind is hella fun too. Sure, there's also a whole bunch of crap I don't care about, but the back catalogue will keep me occupied for a while. Not sure if I'd pay full price just cos I don't have enough time as I'd like for gaming, but there are often deals going.

They could really do something with the way things are listed on PC. If I want to start playing the nu-Wolfen games, then the earliest they have is... Wolfenstein 2? No wait, New Colossus was the name of the first one or was that an expansion to 2? Point is that they're all just there. Same with Elder Scrolls stuff, they could do something with that to inform and direct the player. Have a Wolfenstein hub-page-symbol on every game that expands into WHY ISN'T DOOM 2016 ON GAMEPASS!?

Many people goes and compares the Game Pass as the "Netflix of gaming", but "games" man forgets that modern gaming development is completely different than licensing years old series and movies. So to save face, "games" man buys almost every struggling western studio with an ongoing project without a long-term plan on his mind and he leaves almost every single one on auto-pilot.
"Games" man is even keeping Bobby:
Edit: According to other sources he will leave, so less worse, I still believe no major changes will come.

I just want Microsoft to port their good games to Switch and/or Steam (Lost Odyssey, Rare's catalogue of games, etc). Aside from Bethesda's upcoming games they've got no exclusives that I actually care about (maybe a couple Activision Blizzard stragglers).
