Most people don't understand that Over the Road truckers have the most thankless jobs there are. First, it is dangerous, to the point where you are risking your life every day. Second, everywhere you go, people treat you like crap. Warehouses, shipping yards, international borders, pretty much everywhere. Third, the drivers are literally sacrificing most of the days of the year to be out on the road to pay for their truck or just survive, because if you stop driving the payments on the truck don't stop as well. And there is maintenance, and insurance, and fuel, etc. Fourth, toll plazas, inspection lanes, where the Highway Patrol go through your books and inspect your vehicles just looking for the slightest thing out of place to give you a fine for 100's or thousands of dollars. Yes, there are some bright spots, but not really. Not being able to take a shower for days is routine. Toothache? That is another level of fucked.
I salute and thank every one of those bastards. It's a thankless job but kind of funny when the bug people complain.
