I can continue typing paragraphs of moti so I need to stop and step away but this whole fucking thing is exhausting and moronic and I need someone to hear me and understand. A lot of things are walkable, and even if you drive somewhere, there's a lot places walkable from that point. Cities in California are close enough to rural areas that it's easy to 'get away' if need be anyway. Definitely a different vibe from living in say the Mid-Atlantic.

Suburbs are the worst because nothing's walkable and you still get most of the drawbacks of living in a city.

Had a lefty ottawa friend insist that potential for violence and fear surrounding the protest are reasonable. Pointed out leftist would kill for the optics of such a legitimately non-violent protest... That the women from "women's" shelters complaining about not feeling safe downtown is not a needle mover at all as they already feel perpetually unsafe because "muh patriarchy"... That Trudeau with no pretext opened a precedent for their right wing boogeyman to use the same powers in the future. It's legitimately terrifying.

I also pointed out that if it took a couple hundred truckers to do the same in DC to get everyone in America universal healthcare it would be completely legitimate tactic. And it is. She really liked that idea.

State (and state sanctioned lackeys) monopoly on violence comes to head against a non-violent movement and then the mask slips off completely. This is gold. Will to power. Saw a couple of freedom trucks on Bank St. irl and it was great. Resolve and endurance is hard to come by with the perpetually unemployed victim class, even though they assure you the struggle is real. Not real enough for negative temperatures.

Once more for those in the back, the only loss condition is going home early.

All urbanites do is make noise. Noise, every day, all day, for the sake of making noise. You blast noise out of your phones, every goddamn store has a stereo system, blasting noise. Fucking street performers, heard across the whole street, showing off how noise they can make. Thousands hop into their cars for that demanding 2-3 mile trip, revving their engines and speaker systems turned to 11 and honking and cursing cyclists and pedestrians cause Jesus Christ they are actually using their legs.
