General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Hmm. He could be pretty pissed about that after he shilled hard for Pips in his last This Week in Stupid video.

And I doubt he was really being more of a sped than some of Pips' other regulars. Was this personal on Archivebro's part?

Unpopular opinion, maybe, but I kinda like Vee.

Hell, even Kanata got over emotional when her Oshi got married, even though it was known she was dating the guy. Anyone else remember?

That's just Kanata being Kanata. And Gakki's marriage became a huge thing was because:
  1. Yui Aragakki (Gakki) and Hoshino Gen are extremely popular in both gender demographics
  2. They have played as a "married" couple that was extremely popular in the past
  3. Their announcement was so out of the blue, basically the ENTIRE Japanese Entertainment Industry was caught off-guard
The last part was important because the Japanese Tabloid Industry was so invasive it's on par with the British one. The fact they managed to keep the relationship a secret is amazing. Maybe it has something to do with the couple living separately (couples usually found out entering/leaving their house together)

Niji ID and KR will be integrated into the main Nijisanji "JAPAN" branch, and they will no longer update their respective branches' Youtube, Twitter, other social media by March. Nijisanji explains that this is to strengthen support for these branches

What does this mean for ID and KR? IDK, but EN and China still having their own branch likely means giving ID and KR their own autonomy is no longer worth it or no longer working as planned.

EDIT: As a result of this, ID and KR has suspended their Wave 7 Auditions

Nijisanji (ID and KR) are going to operate together starting the start of April. We also plan to stop any activity as Nijisanji ID Official by the end of March. With this merge, Nijisanji ID and KR will not continue any activity and other official events that are previously brought in the respective official channels.
Our Virtual Livers will keep operating under the name "NIJISANJI". We will keep supporting our Livers' activities behind the screen and we request your support for our Livers from Indonesia and Korea under the name NIJISANJI.
Besides that, we are also announcing that the open audition for Niji ID Wave 7 will be cancelled.
We truly cherish our fans' opinions, but we hope that there won't be too many questions thrown to our Virtual Livers about this merger.
I can understand the reasoning for KR, based on the rumours, facts, and rrats. But ID? Nijifags are telling me they are popular enough to stay independent, looks like that's just a bullshit after all. Not much surprised, to be honest. CN being independent is because the branch is a partnership with Bilibili, and EN being independent is because....well, their content sells (for now)

I think I can see KR branch merge with the main branch, but I don't feel it was right to merge ID branch too. I hope for the best for all of them.
The KR branch merge is what people initially expected due to the fact most of them speak Japanese to a degree already on top of the massive dumpster fire of management they have being the main cause to why they're merging. ID merging was out of left field but I can only assume it is because Nijisanji ID has been third-wheeling as an Indonesian branch of vtubers for a while. The main vtubers with significant growth recently as you pointed out were Siska and Mika- and Hana still reigning over them all- while the rest of them kind of lag behind. I can only assume they're merging them so management can try and push them to grow a bit more before Hololive debuts a third ID branch.
This does make KR and ID auditions from now interesting though, would they have an audition for " Primarily ID/KR speakers" for a batch of characters or something? Most of the ID Livers speak primarily ID and maybe some EN too so will they advertise what languages they speak primarily?

Reza will try and answer some questions. I've also heard that ID management wasn't fired/let go so they're still ID in all but name. An interesting approach that some speculate that Nijisanji could do is just merge some of the talents into EN and change EN into Nijisanji International. Wave 4 EN has Livers who speak other languages alongside english (Reimu (Spanish), Nina (Russian), and Millie (Tagalog)) after all.

In not-Pippa news, Yuni is planning on rebranding or something. She goes through models like the ADHD schizo she is, so I'm not sure what an official rebrand would even be. Didn't see it mentioned, so sorry if it's late.

I saw her looking at this yesterday. But like you said, she goes through a model every couple weeks. So I assume a rebrand would be more drastic than a model change. Maybe changing her name too?

I share two videos before heading off to bed tonight.

First, a short one about the duality of Phase Connect:

And then Holo Bass's recent highly-on-topic jam (we're done hating Holo Bass ITT, right?):

Good night, frens. Have sweet dreams of your oshi finally recognizing how much you've superchatted them and making you a mod in their Discord instance.
Lol I can't wait for Pippa to discover the tranch.

Overall good news. This means The Great Wrangling has begun on KR and Roha Lee may yet be saved.

As for ID, I see people saying this is out of left field and unnecessary, but if JP, EN, and now KR are all being managed in-house, it would actually be unfair of ID to deny them that support just because they DIDN'T have any drama or staff that fucked up.

It's very strange, though. I'm not sure I'm on board with the idea of EN being the only offshoot branch whilst ID and KR just become integrated with what now can't be considered a 'JP branch'. I don't see why they can't just be more hands-on with what's already there.

Some people have been speculating that ID's merge was because of personnel redundancy. Either way, I just think it's a very sudden and abrupt announcement. They even cancelled a new gen audition for that. Indonesian audience's reactions are mixed. Some supported because that means they're now closer to theain Branch, while some hated it because it reminds them of NijiIN. Remember Nijisanji India?

It's a weird one. I'm no business major so I'm guessing Nijisanji know something we don't about how this is all going to pan out in the end.

KR fans seemingly want Ara Chae and the management gone, so this is positive news for them. ID fans are much less positive as they are concerned that they'll lose their identity if there are no plans to continue their ID-specific shows and content.

JP fans are positive in that they believe the lack of managerial restrictions will make them eligible to participate in Nijisanji's tournaments and events, and also make it easier to collab (you'd be surprised how little ID and KR stream with JP).

I feel like as long as they still give the members their 'things' then it's probably a net positive decision. Comparatively few fans are aware of how dire the KR situation is, so the biggest positive of this announcement is flying way under the radar.

Why can't you be normal and doompost like the rest of us

Looks like La+ started streaming on her "private" account, would be surprised if she menaged to avoid saying wagahai for 40 mins.

She also called and talked with her parents on the phone around the 30 min mark. Purple kusogaki just built different
Less likely, but calling her viewers kisamara would be funnier.

Kiara announced a full holotori collab for next week. should be good
Excellent. I wonder how Mumei will fare without her emotional support rat.

Not the biggest Calli fan, but English Conversation class with Ina, Marine and Fubuki? Yes, please. This has got to be on of the first EN collabs Fubuki has done, right?

Fubuki has collabed with Calli (+Coco and Watame) before:
Other than this clip I can't recall seeing her in any other EN collabs. Looking forward to this one.

Reine had her own NGO intro:

Late chicken schedule. Holotalk with Flare soon. Hopefully the DDOS stays off so we can have a recap lol

Did she just make HoloTalk members only?!
How disappointing...
Pretty sure that's "+Members only" as in there is also a member stream on that day with time TBD.

Bird calls

Kusotori 2.0
(also there need to be more Koyori clips)

Holy shit, Aki going all out on this year anniversary 3D. All the original stage asset. amazing Choreography, and even special member emoji for each guest. She even have her own original(?) musical play. The production value is off the chart, and for once it seems to be paying off for her. Currently 41k live viewer and climbing. Not as much as other member, but still high for her.

Edit: Top off somewhere around 55k. Not record shattering, but very solid.
