It didn't help Boogie he procrastinated in making the unboxing video. A quick search on YouTube for "dying light 2 unboxing" has Boogie's video come up as the third result so he has that going for him. The problem is he's two weeks late to the party. All the other channels sponsored by Techland got their videos out in time for the game's public release. Making an unboxing video in 2022 seems so passe to begin with, but if a sponsor wants to pay for it, then why not? And, more to the point, why wait so long to make it? (Yeah, I know: "muh mental health.")
The video is amateurish. Poor lighting casting long shadows and overexposing his flabby, fishbelly white arms. The angle of the camera is too low because he's sitting down instead of standing up during the unboxing. It makes him look like squat and bloated as Boogie awkwardly tries to manipulate and display the items . The audio suffers since the microphone picks up the echo in the room only for it to hilariously recover midway through when he switches over to the review portion. The difference in sound quality is so abrupt I would call it parody if I didn't know better. Boogie, himself, looks like he just woke up. His eyes appear half open and the low energy dialogue occasionally punctuated with sighs betray his boredom and lack of enthusiasm. Even his trademark opening is delivered half-heartedly.
Comparing it the other sponsored videos again, it isn't much worse than what's already uploaded. But there are some that outclass Boogie's in production value by a wide margin.
The review is a rundown of Techland's talking points they sent with the game. Boogie, like so many of his opinions, offers nothing new to talk about or an interesting or entertaining take; it's unremarkable.
After over 10 years of uploading content to YouTube Boogie has little improved as a content maker. I don't expect professional level videos from Boogie but the lack of effort or even care is evident and inexcusable. As he's fond of saying on Twitter with unsolicited and sanctimonious advice, "be better."
