Government shutdown gets pushed back another 3 weeks. I don't really pay attention to any fearmongering about it now. Individual politicians may use it to advertise themselves or their opinions, but nobody in Congress really wants to force a shutdown. Cruz and Lee's amendment only has a chance of passing if attached to the spending bill, and it's bad press for the entire party if a shutdown happens.

So... he's just trying to look good basically. Cruz was probably doing this in the first place because he is a very vocal advocate for forcing shutdowns.

Curious to see who gets the rebuttal.

EDIT for non-Americans: the opposite party always rebuts the State of the Union. Who does it isn't significant, but if Biden bombs (likely) and the GOP has good writers it could be worth a watch.

Last year, Tim Scott got the rebuttal, and of course "Uncle Tim" was trending on Twitter because it's perfectly acceptable to be racist to black Republicans since they are traitors.

Still contend it'd be way more fruitful for a few of the populist members to do a live react stream of it. A rebuttal done by a rino rings hollow.

Yes, the Chinese are staying in their sphere of influence by aggressively building island bases in the South China Sea and creating debt traps for African, Latin American, and Eastern European countries through their Belt and Road Initiative, while the Russians are aggressively posturing against smaller FSU and Eastern European nations to get them back into their sphere of influence. Yeah, totally not rebuilding the Empire guize

Better than Bouillon is less salty and is basically a concentrated version of the stock you buy in boxes. Highly recommended. Also comes in weird flavors like ham, mushroom, fish and lobster.

seems like "just run a compilation of Biden being fucking stupid" or Trump could be on the table if there isn't
