In the appendix, Emma Hilton is written off as a crock of shit, and the authors argue that since she does not have a degree in sports science, she is not qualified to comment on transwomen in women's sports. Hilton notes how they did not go after Joanna Harper for doing the same thing.

Because there is 'no evidence' suggesting males have an advantage over women, women can continue to lose and be told to 'do better' against transwomen who 'just want to compete.'

Apparently, the authors and scientists behind this hit piece aren't named.

Edit: here's one author, a grad student, telling Hilton she used the scientific method and Hilton didn't.

Every week someone drags on here a dude who makes no attempt at passing whatsoever but smugly lectures the whole world. I swear i feel like they are getting less and less convincing since i started lurking.

It might be a folk explanation without much actual testing into it, but there's a reason for that: fucking with your body's hormones artificially is a bad idea and the scientific community has not felt the need to investigate the minutiae of why this is the case. It's common sense, don't do it.

Come to think of it, the concept that some ideas are so obvious on their face that no one bothers investigating is a theme when dealing with trannies. They like to find long held, common sense assumptions and then challenge them on the basis that there's no evidence behind them. I mean, challenging assumptions is good and it's good that science pursues such endeavors, but it's really fucking dumb to argue that men can become women just because we haven't run studies to prove otherwise.

See, over and over, this paper just argues "there's no evidence that trannies are stronger than women!" Well no shit there isn't evidence for that. No one's bothered to look for such evidence because it's a straightforward conclusion. We already know men are stronger, on average, than women. We don't need evidence to separately conclude that men with dumb beliefs are also stronger than women. (albeit men who are alleged to have fucked their bodies up with hormones)

No, the burden of proof is on the troons to establish that fucking their bodies up sufficiently reduces them to women's levels. (Something I'd argue is borderline impossible to quantify, considering hormones aren't shaving their bones down or reducing their lung capacity.)

This is a dumb argument and no amount of shouting "NO EVIDENCE! NO EVIDENCE!" and "we fucking love science!" is going to persuade people. The neat thing about sports is that it's something that the common man is invested in and that they can have an opinion on based on their own two eyes. We're not talking about boring fractions of percents about crime in bathrooms (which is still a serious issue, but less immediately visible, I think)*.

We're talking parents spending weekends driving their daughters to track and field, or swimming or field hockey and then having to watch some hulking teenaged asshole steal their place on the podium.

Lol try telling those parents "well acktually there's no evidence that zhe has any advantage over your daugher", as the little shit is towering over said daughter.

* Though the Loudoun County incident did surprise me. Leave it to trannies to fuck up even the areas they have a relative advantage in, bathroom crime stats.

It is incredibly frustrating trying to talk about this stuff, because it's like arguing with someone about whether the moon has a core made of cheese. Technically yes, we have no direct evidence that that isn't the case, but for that to be true, a lot of other things we do have evidence for would have to be untrue.

I don't even know how you go about arguing that trans women don't have an inherent advantage over actual women, if you start from the point of view the men do. For trans women not to have an advantage, the advantage men would get from testosterone would have to be fairly small and limited only to muscle development. We know that that isn't the case, it's obvious from all the knowledge humanity has of sex differences in humans. For their claim to be true, the very logic that leads to sex-segregated sports would be thrown into question. But somehow none of them are coming out demanding we integrate men's and women's sports because there's no direct evidence men have an "unfair advantage" (assuming you could even come up with a definition of unfair).

One thing I've noticed is they tend to think transphobes don't understand gender. The idea that someone could understand what they're saying but disagree with it - that their viewpoint is a philosophical framework and not objective fact (e.g. "trans women are women") - doesn't compute.

Priapic wasn't specifically a god of rape, he just liked to try and dabble in it. He failed at it too. If I wanted a rape god then I'd at least expect him to be able to rape a nymph.

Here's what's funny. If you accept their theory and logic, that there's no actual truth that science strives to inch towards understanding, then there's no reason to accept their truth. Oh sure, they say, you should prioritize the marginalized. But who defines that? I have now decided the truth is that white cishet men are the marginalized, who are you to deny their lived experiences? Don't go reaching for statistics and metrics now you positivist bigot.

For a long time there was a joke about how there's no published studies finding that wearing a parachute when jumping out of a plane is safer than not wearing one. I don't know, when this began the biggest concern was "they are taking over nerd spaces". Suddenly they are even in the military, taking all the "women in X" awards and lobbying for actual laws. They moved to the biggest chatroom/forum of all....real life.

All because we didn't stop them in time.
