Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

I’m not doom and gloom about the remake, it’ll probably be dreadful, horrible even.

But who cares? We’ve all got the original, if anything the remake will make a great filter. Have a KOTOR discussion and someone mentions something exclusive to the remake?

Opinion discarded.

On the (low) chance the remake is good well then hats off, a quality Star Wars product.

So, Universal Studios' Harry Potter World gets a literal replica of the Hogwarts Express to travel between parks....

...while the Star Wars Land ferries its guests in a literal food truck.

This is embarrassing even for Disney and Bob Chapek.
For some reason Disney seems to think that big Star Wars fans are all LARPers who want to immerse themselves into a big roleplay like we're all Mandaboos or 501st members, but then they go and set all their LARPs in the part of Star Wars that nobody cares about and make everything so ridiculously tacky that nobody would actually want to go. Disney are even making their own planned community which is basically a 24/7 LARP for superconsoomers and I have no idea why. Since when has LARPing been such a massive thing? I'm sperging about Star Wars on an E-celeb mockery forum and even I think this is pathetic.

I've read on here, and other blogs following Disney, that Chapeck is trying to move the parks from being a middle class family thing, to an exclusive rich/wealthy people thing. Idk if there are enough LARPers into SW to support these things financially, but that looks like the horse they are betting on.

And that's why I'm going to Knott's Berry Farm.

It's honestly kind of hard to tell who's worse.

Iger was the asshole who turned the Disney company into a supermassive soulless corporate machine that's far removed from what Walt's company used to be (even worse than Eisner did) on top of buying and utterly destroying the Star Wars franchise, but Cheapek is left in the aftermath of Iger's reign and attempting to dig even deeper than him, especially by shitting up the theme parks, the one thing Disney had that always remained consistently worth spending money on as a consoomer up until now.
Well that's why it's time for Disney to stop hiring kikes to rule the company with an iron fist. Eisner ✡️ & Katzenberg ✡️, Iger ✡️ and finally Chapek ✡️.

Did these people watch Season 1 of Westworld and go "Yeah, that's what we need! That's future!" ?

No; if we're talking about the park, it's the product of delusional ego and desperation.

The ego came in when TFA made a shitload of money; Iger, in a fit of arrogance decided and demanded that the park be stripped down noticeably to where it only covered 'original' ideas from the ST rather than the original design document. Chapek then cut costs by axing rides, and Kathy likely had some hand in designing the park to be for her friends. Hence why Galaxy's Edge only gets peripheral traffic or the rare super consoomer.

The price gouging is because they're seriously bleeding in the park revenue and flailing due to not wanting to lose even more money. It's basically the business equivalent of panicking.

It really is amusing to see Iger and Chapek prove they're not any better at running the parks than Eisner was. And that's saying a lot.

Which is the exact opposite thing Walt wanted the Disney parks to be. He wanted the parks to be for everyone, not for a few Disney obsessed rich people. I mean for fucks sake, individual pay tiers for the goddamn RIDE LINES?
I mean the only reason I would ever go to Galaxies Edge is so I can sexually harass the official Disney Rey cosplayers, so I would have to agree
I guess it's only that, or looking at the full scale Millennium Falcon, considering Galaxy's Edge won't get a new ride for the next few decades and most people won't be able to afford to go on the two they have.

Minus being able to fuck and/or kill Rey.

I've commented earlier here that the larping thing is fucking strange. Literally no one does it. Yet Hollywood likes to pretend it is a corner stone of nerd/geek culture.

It comes from their lack of respect for Star Wars.

I'm sure this is why the narrative popped up during the Disney Era that the only person not responsible for the success of Star Wars was George Lucas.

The idea you can just make anything Star Wars, half ass it and it'll work. As long as it has the superficial tropes.

My personal theory is this was the underlying intention of TLJ. On some level, maybe from intention, maybe from laziness, probably both. RJ thought he could make a really badly written film, that is inconsistent with itself, with Star Wars and yet if it is wrapped up in visuals, music and Star Warsy superficial stuff. Thinking he can fool fans into liking it, while shitting all over Star Wars. Getting off on an ego trip that he'd show how clever he was and how dumb the fans were.

Which is then where the narrative, "it's just space wizards and dumb shit." or whatever came from.

It's reflecting these disrespectful attitudes towards the material.

So of course you get a theme park land that is half assed but was super expensive to build, lacking any depth or detail.

Plus I figure Walt would've seen grown childless rich adults with a Disney obsession as extremely bizarre. Probably never even imagined it.

I mean, RLM have asserted that Star Wars fans will buy anything, especially Rich Evans.

Rian is really lazy and uncreative, but I think he was so wrapped up in the "themes" he stole from reddit came up with about what Star Wars is and what it means on top of his dumb as shit original ideas for characters and set pieces that he came up with, that he just shoved in Star Wars-y things in order to call it a Star Wars movie. There is a difference between an unintentionally bad movie and a movie trying to be bad on purpose.

And speaking of TLJ, can it stop trending on Twitter for 5 minutes?

RLM didn't invent the idea of consoomers lol

In other news, John Williams is writing the main theme for the Obi Wan Kenobi show. Unfortunately if it's like his recent SW scores, I probably won't remember it after hearing it. Williams only writes scores for Spielberg and Star Wars now, but with the career he's had he doesn't have anything to prove anymore.

I noticed that the article mentions how he was nominated for Oscars for every score in the OT and DT, but not for the PT, which is fucking BULLSHIT. I have to believe that the PT didn't get nominations for best effects (for TPM and ROTS), best score, and best costume design (the only things most people can agree are good about the PT) solely for petty industry politics involving George. They hate him because he was successful without them.

There's stuff in the writing which is so bad and ill conceived, it feels like it was intentional with the attitude, "it doesn't fucking matter." He is not that terrible a writer.

There are even whole sequences that make no sense. Like wtf are those speeders trying to achieve on Crait? It's just, "insert pretty Star Wars action with no purpose."

So much is just, "ah it doesn't fucking matter" to a level it has to be on purpose to some large degree.

But they did say that about Star Wars specifically. Disney is unironically following the plan they set out.

Only thing Rian did right was destroying JewJew Abrams's empty and retarded mystery boxes along with breaking the rose tinted glasses everyone had on for Disney Wars and finally making people remember that he, JJ and the people at Disney's Lucasfilm are all self-absorbed retards who never plan ahead. Like someone here already said, all of Disney's decisions were unplanned or reactionary, with their only real success being with a lot of boomerfag and wokefag pandering to keep consoomers consuming, that and british coomers who have a tremendous hard-on for Daisy Ridley and who currently make up the largest percentage of Disney Wars consoomers (and Ahsoka coomers).

Also all this talk of disney housing is just taking this whole "lifestyle brand" horse shit to disturbing new levels.

I actually won't be surprised if this becomes the unironic reaction once more disneyspergs get wind of it. I'm already starting to see a few freaks defend this and the disney wars hotel, with them only hating the fact that they can't afford this "amazing" experience.

.....Did we watch the same movie?

Again I think this is only because he was so autistically obsessed with his stupid ideas and themes that he brushed over a lot of little details like the plot and characterization. That, and he smacks of a hipster nihilist. The themes and ideas in TLJ are so half assed.

'What if Hoth, but it's actually salt instead of snow and it's at the end of the movie so your expectations are subverted and there's a cool red trail visual'. That's seriously it, TLJ is just a random series of visuals Rian Johnson thought were cool that he then constructed a retarded version of Empire around. To somewhat seriously answer your question though, they were supposed to do some kind of suicide run on the superlaser which is also exactly what the movie slammed Poe at the beginning for being a toxic man leader and getting all the useless bombers killed bombing the dreadnought, but now after he's been womansplained by Admiral Tumblr he does the same thing again with a bunch of useless speeders. Rian can't even keep his own shitty themes straight.

It's probably a mixture of everything.

I just picture that once he did his starting point, which was, directly copying some stuff from TESB and ROTJ. Linking it to TFA. Saw how repetitive it was. Went through writing subversion.

Then layered in his dumb little ideas and themes to explore, let that drive the plot. "What if Han Solo didn't have a heart of gold and was just a scoundral." Or whatever he said the idea behind DJ was. Then kept adding more shit in, no matter how much it was making the film a mess. I just assume at some point he must have embraced it. Either getting tickled on how bad it could be, or embracing how little he cared and not trying.

There's just something in his smugness, where I think what some people took to him trolling fans. Was his ego thinking he was going to shit all over this and no one will notice.
