It isn't because of Third World women that we developed the robust treatment options we have now. It is because of affluent and mostly white gay men in the First World. I'm not criticizing the choice to do this, I'm criticizing the gay bitching.

In fairness, I still consider RLM and the Plinkett reviews to be a factor in the Disney Buyout, since those Trekkies amplified Prequel Hate with ridiculous complaints and then declared that Abrams should direct a Star Wars movie based on his Star Trek movie. People listened to them, and I genuinely believe that the nonstop mockery directed at George was a factor in his decision to sell.

they werent the only ones at the time that noticed abrams clearly wanted to direct a starwars film not a star trek film

also abrams wasn't the worse dirrector they had
