A lot of people don't know how the media works in Canada. But basically despite the fact that the CBC is a state run broadcaster for the Liberal Party, many other outlets get support from the government too. Any publication that gets corrupted by government money is biased and only a few based ones don't take money. Really small ones like Tyee are just terrible. In other countries you get impeached for bribing the media but in Canada it's standard accepted practice. Keep that in mind when you read what they say about the convoy.

One thing I never understand when this comes up is how this "We're too nice for our own good" thing is a feature of both left & right. The reasons the Right says it are obvious to any who reads threads like this, but why do lefties do it? Reddit is REEING about how the cops are too friendly because they didn't go full jackboot from day 1 (and supposedly did against the Natives), lefty rags are worried that Trumpism has spread to Canada and we didn't do enough to stop the disinfo, the Dem-aligned media convinces people that Trump judges have approved districting plans that will give the Republicans the advantage for 40 years &c. &c. How do they not realise that they're the "Ends justifies the means" faction that has Long March'd every institution that matters and that it's so obvious they should just admit it. The ingrained need to be the underdog? The hedonic treadmill? The tendency of the terminally online towards doomerism? Humble-bragging for propaganda purposes? Good old projection? So many possibilities.
