I know I should expect nothing less at this point, but the magnitude of this lie is just ridiculous. The complete opposite of the truth. I've just been watching hours of streams, and the main thing they've been talking about, and showing, the whole time is the police lines pushing and shoving. When it started getting too messy, they would calm down a bit, and just push up a foot or two every ten minutes or so. But the whole point was for the police to gain ground; to 'annex' the soil the protesters had just been standing on. And God forbid any of the protesters stray away from the group. Footage of multiple cops ganging up and hammer punching a grounded civilian. Nearly beating a civilian to death with a rifle. In the civilian world, Canada has a certain degree of consensual fighting permitted (possibly even more liberally than in the United States), but it is VERY illegal to beat or kick someone when they're already down; can get you stuck with attempted murder charges, if you don't kill them. Fine for the cops, apparently.
The cavalry was obviously deployed to accelerate the advance of the police line; to destabilize the protester resistance, and allow the police to advance into the area they just trampled. They did this more than once. The horsemen would ride through, create a gap through trampling, and then the footmen would advance into the gap. In some ways, I think you could compare it to the "Creeping Barrage" tactic from WW1, where artillery would bombard a position, boots on the ground would move into the freshly bombarded zone, artillery would then fire a bit ahead, infantry would follow up, and so on. It is so far from what is described as "assaultive behaviour" by the protesters, according to the police. And what the fuck is "assaultive behaviour" anyway; sounds like some stupid HR Department language. Either accuse them of a crime and prove it, or shut the fuck up. "Assaultive behaviour" is not real, but is being used to justify atrocities such as these fuckers trampling peaceful protesters, including grandmas.
Credit where credit is due, it is impressive that Trudeau, with his completely unjustified martial law, has managed to turn the "YOU'RE KILLING GRANDMA" thing on its head.
