That's one of the things which is striking to me. One would certainly say a fucking cavalry charge is an escalation of force over a bit of CS gas. It's as if they went straight for the options which could lead to people being maimed or killed.

Optics. And note how the crowd wasn't thick, wasn't aggressive, they were just standing there.

I remember the Floyd riots. Those people pushed AGAINST the horses and STILL weren't trampled.
