Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

I gotta be honest I'm enjoying this a lot less after their attempts at balancing the combat. The world looks better and there are less glitches but it was fucking cool to be able to stack 2000% crit damage or basically be nethacking Dr Manhattan.

Being overpowered is fun, shooting at bullet sponge enemies with my all equally as weak feeling abilities isn't. Also this is a game that is on average 30 hours long and there's is no post story campaign. It's not an MMO that you can play for thousands of hours so why do they need to balance combat anyways?

So as a test I decided to shoot a wall with people around and see how they reacted. Most of them ran but one guy pulled a gun on me and started shooting me. He wasn't marked just some construction guy walking, so is that new?

Why does the game even let you chose dong size? Can you do something with it like make a weird cyber weapon?
There should be dialogue from NPCs you romance who judge your dick/cyberdong based on size. That way the appearance change does have an effect.

Decided to try out the 5 hour PS5 trial, and so far it's decent if a bit slow (in pacing, not framerate).

Shotguns/LMGs worthwhile? I'm planning on making my character focus on those weapons as they're my favorite weapon types.

I think I will try it out when I have access to a big PC again.
New play through as well

Shotguns yea, LMGs no. The Shotguns will cause Knockdown and the Carnage series sound satisfying.

I did notice there are a lot more enemies offline so they can't get Breached.

Edit: Honestly your better off leveling all the weapons for Perk Points. Still pick your favorites just make sure the others are maxed out just for more Perk Points.

Why does the game have LMGs? They're almost entirely useless at any level. HMGs are almost as bad but at least you get a big dick moment ripping them off turrets.

You mean "LMG" since there's only the one variant with no Iconic. That said I can only agree with you since it does nothing but eat rifle ammo since it can't hit anything worth a damn, and even if you do hit something it won't do any damage.

I heard that sniping in general has been heavily nerfed. I'm in the middle of a Morrowind kick and don't want to play Cyberpunk right now, can any of you folks confirm/deny? If so, that's bogus imo. You spend the entire game getting one-shotted by snipers, that's what makes it so sweet when you can give it right back.

EDIT: Also Skippy did not need to be nerfed. Even in auto headshot mode it didn't do great damage imo.

Going to have to wait and see the only real sniper rifle I used was the Smart Gun version to Head shot them. I did notice that the SPT32 series requires a Body of 10 now instead of 6, not sure if that carries over to the Panam Iconic version.

Wait for that combat rebalance mod to be updated to the new patch, that should deal with the bullet sponge problem. I agree though, being OP as fuck in this game was cool as shit and these inevitable attempts at rebalancing things just make the actual gameplay less fun in the end in my opinon.

Some more 1.5 observations:

The areas seem to have been retooled level wise. Pre Patch I could run around Watson with no real problems level wise and post heist do the same thing in Wakako's area. Post patch I immediately was running into things several levels higher than me in Watson until I hit around 4-6 and that stopped. Wakako's area at 16 running into guys that are skulls to me. Just feels a little weird that I have to actually asses some situations now when going to areas now.

Finally decided to dust off the PS4 copy in the PS5 - hey, free upgrade's a free upgrade, and it's not like it was my money - and the games finally in the state it should launched in. Just needed an extra 15 months.

My low expectations - not having the game crash once per hour - have already been met, and I just want to finally get around to clearing this sumbitch...

Playing on series X I had like handfull issues. Once crashed, overall it was good gameplay experience. Thinking about giving another try. But on the other hand dl of 60GB sounds like investment not worth of doing.

So I was one of the people who got CP2077 on the PS4. I ended up refunding because it was actually unplayable, and I dont use that term lightly.

My PS5 arrived this week, and I figured I'd give it another shot, since its $25 on psn.

It actually functions now. Steady FPS. The only real bug I've experienced is a single crash and some occasional texture hiccups.

But the game itself is....still shallow as fuck. It creates and entire world, brands, environment etc and you can do fuck all with it except for fighting people. Everything is still a yes or no, everything still ignores you and doesnt react to you. The story is pretty blah and the characters are annoying, and often illogical. Panam: "COME ON, WE HAVE TO CATCH THE TRANSPORT" also Panam: proceeds to then sulk for 5 minutes worth of dialogue skipping.

Which brings me to my next point. So much of the dialogue and interaction in the game is completely and utterly fucking meaninless and dry. All text options just route back to the same shit. Almost all missions pan out the exact same. Most missions are nothing but "go here, shoot this" and any task beyond that is highly simplified, such as getting into computers requiring you to press an single button. This vs, for example, Sleeping Dogs (PS3) having several different puzzles for basic tasks such as lockpicking, hacking, setting traps, bugs etc.

On top of all this, the UI is still shit, button presses often feel mushy, and need multiple hits. Combat feels good when it works, but often has issues with hitboxes and damage. The control layout is incredibly stupid (Square to enter cars but O to exit????) and doesn't flow well at all.

The most enjoyment to be found is just running around doing gigs and random jobs. When you can do your own thing and just wander around the city, its far more enjoyable. Even that is hampered by a ton of limitations. You see tons of cars, guns, clothes, products etc that you can never utilize or own in game because there's no system in place for it. Car customization is clearly a thing based on the amount of variations running around, but was a cancelled feature, apparently. NPCs have far more options for their look than you do, and guns also clearly have some form of customization that's largely been removed. The new update added buyable apartments with options for interior design so maybe that will eventually translate to the other, yanno, major parts of gameplay like characters, guns and cars.

Overall it functions now, and its a pretty game. But beyond that its a shallow shitfest that masks itself as something deeper than it really is. It's no wonder reddit loves this game

I get the joke he was trying to make but it's just really stupid because "open world" is a very broad genre so like no shit not all of them have police chases.

What gets me about this article is that they couldn't get police chases working and just gave up. How were they not able to get it working? Are chases really that difficult to code or was it just everything being poorly managed?

Suprisingly this isnt the first time this has happened with game development. Ubisoft Ivory Tower's racing game, The Crew 2, has had broken headlights that barely illuminate anything since launch. Their actual defense for this is "we cant fix it, sorry". Even more perplexing the fact that the lootboxes in game light up super bright and illuminate the surrounding area.

Agreed. My only complaint about FGR is that it makes the player far more mortal once leveled. If I'm going to die of brain cancer in a matter of months once I finally get the insane terrorist out of my head, CDPR should at least give me the privilege of being a bionic God considering I've also taken down the one and only Adam Smasher.

I find it highly doubtful that V will actually get killed off, I suspect that CDPR will just write-in a shot of healing nanites to the brain or something similar, and then you go off to learn more and possibly do something about the conspiracy involving Night Corp that the game rather strongly hints at.

V is clinically braindead in three out of five endings.
