Can you use snakes as rope?

Snakes can be used as ropes, but only if you tie a proper snek knot. If you don't utilize the snek knot, they will slip apart.

Snek knots are incredibly strong however. In 1947 General John Amos Fitz used a half mile long snake rope made of of snek knotted boomslangs to single-handedly bring a Nimtz class cruiser to a stop in the Panama Canal.

Lemme introduce you to pythons.
I've never had a python. What I know about them is from ball pythons. You can stick them in a little box and feed them every once in a while and they are happy. From my understanding they are strike happy though. My boa is super temperamental about his food. It took months of starvation to move him from mice to rats and I gave up on moving him from rats to rabbits. I just feed him more. He has never tried to bite anyone, but I've had him from a hatchling until now when he is much longer than I am tall and could kill me if he desired.

Isn't that just how snakes are around feeding time? I remember having a corn snake and the fucker would lunge at my hand when I was dropping in the thawed baby mouse, but that was also back when the advice was feed them once every week so maybe it wasn't the best situation.

Rocky Balboa Constrictor has always been pretty chill. I can only speak for my snake though. He sniffs (licks) at anything you dangle towards him. If he is hungry he will strike and coil. If he isn't particularly hungry but he could eat, I'll leave it in his cage and it will be gone the next day. He has gone six months without eating before. I'd offer him his meal and then leave it with him but he wouldn't want it. I've wasted a lot of rats that way. Snakes are temperamental creatures, but well worth the effort. I actually built a fire in the main house just to make sure my snake stays warm. The kids are with their mother and I'm holed up in the dungeon with computers to provide me warmth.

I know you can use them as arrows.
