While you're not wrong that Mafumafu has essentially thrown her under the bus, I think this is directed as KoreKore, who has set his relationship with them ablaze to milk this for everything it's worth.

And there's not much Cover can do for her. After all, they 'don't get involved with the personal lives of their talents'. Mikeneko is the one being targeted, so she's more or less on her own to take this one to court. And if it goes to court, we probably aren't seeing Rushia for a very long time.
