The main issue with this 2 party system set up, is that both sides have such loose definitions of what they value.
Either side has a few keywords, but it ultimately boils down to opposing the other team.
Especially here in the states, too many just ride the republican party simply to be a soft Democrat.
A new wave of firm definitions and holding to that line needs to happen.

I remember being taught or discussing that Hitler blamed the Jews for Germany's loss in WW1 because most of them wouldn't donate to the war fund. Specifically the wealthier Jews weren't interested and wouldn't donate. Then, because they were wealthy, they got to escape Germany first and the middle/working/lower class Jews were the ones that got rounded up.

I don't even think I was taught that at all in high school. When we got to the WW2 part of the curriculum it was basically the Holocaust the whole way through until the Americans dropped the bomb and Hitler did a suicide.

As much as I agree, I worry that setting firm definitions and drawing ideological lines will open the door to a more parliamentary system that I don't think American society is necessarily built for. As we've seen with other parliamentary democracies in the west, it's super easy for the system to be co-opted by leftists.

The thing is that in theory, a third-party should be viable. If everyone simply said: "Oh, those two parties are both bad, let's vote for literally anyone else." the problem evolves. We have a bit of that in Canada, and our right-wing is used to changing its allegience. Still, I choose membership in the Christian nationalist party, the Christian Heritage Party.

I feel the sads for you guys' schooling, we spent a whole week in 10th grade on the Depression including based comparisons of FDR to Stalin and Hitler both, in depth talk about why Hitler hated the Jews (and sorry, no, no one said because they deserved it, your definition of in depth may vary ofc), etc. etc.

Because it is up to YOU, the teacher, to build your block plan and write your lesson plans. The only things you'll know is that, in my state, it is SOOPER DE DOOPER ILLEAGULLLLL to not teach the lollercaust. And even though it's not technically illegal, you MUST TEACH THAT ONLY NIGGERS AND NIGGERS ONLY NOW AND FOREVER, FOREVER AND EVER, AMEN were enslaved and discriminated against.
