pretty sure every state with a mandate has either dropped it or announced a set date for dropping it by now. the rest of the boston metro area (including waltham and watertown which dropped them last fall but reinstated them over the omicron meme) hasn't even announced a date for dropping it yet but at least i won't have to wear a mask at the dispensary which is like the one place it's actually enforced
Yes. Among 18-30 women (or was it 18-40 women, basically millennial women), almost 60% of the ones who self-identified as "left-wing" also identified as "mentally ill." Among women that age who were centrists, it was much lower, and those who were right-wing even lower. This was true among both men and women and people of all age groups--the less left-wing you were, the less people there were who identified as mentally ill. Interestingly, older people and men were less likely to identify as mentally ill.
This is an old tactic (wedge doctrine), but it was usually associated with the right wing. Basically the goal was to get some corporate/religious cause associated with the political right wing so you'd get a bunch of artificial support. It's most famously associated with creationists.

I had the same feeling about a convention I used to go to ever year with some friends. Unfortunately, they decided to be jerks and not want to go in 2019, so I wound up having to sell my ticket since I was unable to expense it going alone. They told me it was no big deal and were angry I had even bought a ticket, and that we would go in 2020. I knew it would be the last opportunity I would ever have to go there, and that has continued to pan out. Also, favorite restaurant out in that area also closed down, for some non-covid reason just before it came in. I regret not finding a way to go on my own, despite the difficulties, but can't change time.
sooo...i'm guessing everyone had that feeling of malaise in 2019? towards the end of that year i became a total doomer despite my life and likely future being the best it ever was and knew the world was teetering on the edge of a total shit storm. i think it was when cops unconstitutionally seized the guns of the atomwaffen dude in washington state when i knew things were about to truly go to shit

I could sense something for sure but I was pretty wrong about what it was. I wrote a little dystopian short story idea in my journal that ended up being kind of like the pdx riots mixed with vaxports and that still creeps me out that I thought of that. Still, there was a sense of urgency like, stock up the larders, check in with family, seize the moment, because something is about to blow up.
