I've seen a lot of bragging about non-compliance from the trans community. Many of them seem to view any temporary obstacle to what they want right now as some sort of tyranny, to be avoided and opposed. They frequently speak of "gatekeeping", as if that were not a legitimate duty of a doctor. This combines about as well with complex medical regimens as you'd think.

Used to be that most radiology departments could burn you a disc with your images on request. Maybe some places were more strict about requiring a reason for that, but I thought it was a pretty standard thing. They probably would have just made him sign some sort of HIPAA release & handed him the disc. Although with CD/DVD drives having gone extinct, I don't know if that's still much of a thing these days.

CDs ain't going anywhere in medical imaging in most of the world, even though some US places use cloud based storage, As for medical records, right to view them and request copies (incl. imaging) is one of the basic, legal, enforceable patient rights even in shithole countries, let alone US. He was probably told it would take a few days or a week or something and had a meltdown because it wasn't done right there and then.

I've been thinking about how quantitatively bad their operation is for their alpacas. You can obviously see how shit it is with all the sagebrush but it's always nice to have numbers. In Colorado it seems that pastures, on average, support 0.04 AUM per acre. That seems low to me but maybe Colorado sucks for grazing, with rocky soil and a short growing season. I'm going to go with 0.1 AUM per acre.

An animal unit month is the forage to support a 1000 lb beef cow for one month. It's a relative measure and fairly rough but useful.

35 acres of land in Colorado is, at best, 3.5 AUM. Theirs is certainly worse, for a lot of reasons, but I'm generous. An alpaca is probably around 0.15 AU. 35 acres could then support about five alpacas for five months, or 100 alpacas for one week. They have to provide hay the rest of the year and with no forage it'd better be good hay. They're also not rotating and it's obviously being overgrazed, so the quality has been dropping like a rock. 60 lb hay per month is 0.71 tons of hay per animal per year, 71 tons overall (the land shaves off 1 ton). Assume $150/ton (depends on their region) and that's $10,650 per year for hay. Does anybody think that they're making $107 per animal each year to just break even and not support themselves, pay mortgage/taxes, vaccinate or supplement their animals? That ignores all the other creatures like the sheep or Kevin on the tranch.
