I'd say that's my fault for not being clear, but then the names of the game and the genre are the same. But yes.

• Wokists love cyberpunk (the genre), seeing it as a utopia.
• Most people see cyberpunk (the genre) as a dystopia for the reasons you listed.
• They hate CP2077 (and the TTRPG it's based on) because smashes the utopian vision, claiming the game misses the point and "is not real cyberpunk".

I kind disagree about the unchecked power of corporations though. In the same way they love the idea of a working class uprising but fly into a rage whenever the working class don't do what the government says, so too do they claim to be anti-big corporations and then scream bloody murder whenever someone criticises Disney, Google, or CNN.

I've not watched a Bob video in a while, but I'm making an exception here. A movie based on a game he doesn't like. This is going to be good.

He spends the first third of the review complaining that Tom Holland isn't given enough screen time. I'm not a film buff, so I don't know what Mark Walberg has done to get dismissed as "that guy from Netflix's Spencer for Hire." that drags the movie down.

I got a smile from him describing Nathan Drake as "a douche-bag with a thesaurus". Also, he pronounces it "Thess-a-ress".

Then there's a bizarre point that he knew it was going to be a bad movie because it didn't piss gamers off.

After a whole review shitting on the film aside from the two pirate ship set piece, he gives it a 5/10.

The video ends with a picture of Kirby eating a car and the caption "This is still so important".


Having never seen the film, if it's major crimes are Mark Walberg is in it too much and gets the best one liners, "spiderman" isn't in it enough, and it didn't piss off gamers enough, it sounds like it might be a decent enough film. Zack Snyder's Justice League having the dramatic moment that saves the day being The Flash not punching anyone but still violating A One Rule to empower his teammates is a better superhero moment than most anything Gunn or the MCU (or Snyder previously!) has produced. Had he not been blinded by the rage, Bob could have pointed out that Gunn himself went for a similar conclusion in the first Guardians, although he still used it to attack the ultimate enemy. Snyder's conclusion is the superior to most comic films because half the characters (Cyborg, The Flash, Batman) are empowered to both support their teammates and the ultimate goal beyond simply punching Steppenwolf more times, which none of them actually do leaving the fight to the heavies, first Wonder Woman and Aquaman, and then Superman when he arrives but all remain important to the conclusion. (Whedon's version ignores this and simply has Superman do literally everything.) I will not be taking questions or dissent on this point.

Snyder got this in all the encounters in Justice League*, until Wonder Woman chops off Steppenwolf's head they never win through a fight. (Not even then, they win by denying Darkseid's McGuffin to Earth.) While the others are engaged with Steppenwolf and the Parademons (who Batman takes both times since he obviously can't take Steppenwolf) in the first encounter it's up to The Flash to save all the hostages. When they all fight Superman, nothing they do to fight with him works and it's the best fight in the movie and Snyder's best since Smallville, with Batman achieving less than nothing. Snyder had actually figured it out (back in 2017 too), while still giving us fights, and it was the best evidence from anyone making these films that they were learning about the genre. I will take even fewer questions and dissent on this.

Bob thinks you can parody this due to the execution (personally I liked it, especially the music, I'll leave that all up to you) but I think you'd have to completely ignore the theme of it to pull it off. The idea that a superhero can win the day and help his teammates without fighting anyone is what these films should be all about. I like much of the MCU even its garbage, but it rarely gets this, Snyder for all his very clear problems and with the opportunity to give in completely to his worst predilections not only avoided it but gave the best moments to the two characters (The Flash and Cyborg) to achieve a victory without it WHILE recognizing something in their personal narrative. (For what it's worth, I would expect Gunn to be the MCU person most likely to do something like this potentially in Guardians 3.)

*Even in the battle with the Amazons (and Atlantis), the ultimate goal was to get the Mother Box away, fighting with Steppenwolf was only a delaying tactic. The only straight fight in the movie is the flashback battle with the Gods and Green Lantern. It's the one Snyder film that doesn't fall back on dramatic fight scenes! (He finally learned the straightforward lesson of The Battle of Thermopylae!)

While funny, this is a bit too much complex for the sad simple life of Robert Chipman. Not to mention I don't think Robert gives too much of a fuck about vidya to care about game volume, or he could just used a headphone.

The reason why Robert stayed on his car is a simple one, he wanted to avoid his parents, more likely his father, who he mentioned he wasn't in best terms with. Spoiler: Cyberpunk Sperging

I'd say that's my fault for not being clear, but then the names of the game and the genre are the same. But yes.

• Wokists love cyberpunk (the genre), seeing it as a utopia.
• Most people see cyberpunk (the genre) as a dystopia for the reasons you listed.
• They hate CP2077 (and the TTRPG it's based on) because smashes the utopian vision, claiming the game misses the point and "is not real cyberpunk".

I kind disagree about the unchecked power of corporations though. In the same way they love the idea of a working class uprising but fly into a rage whenever the working class don't do what the government says, so too do they claim to be anti-big corporations and then scream bloody murder whenever someone criticises Disney, Google, or CNN.

I've not watched a Bob video in a while, but I'm making an exception here. A movie based on a game he doesn't like. This is going to be good.

He spends the first third of the review complaining that Tom Holland isn't given enough screen time. I'm not a film buff, so I don't know what Mark Walberg has done to get dismissed as "that guy from Netflix's Spencer for Hire." that drags the movie down.

I got a smile from him describing Nathan Drake as "a douche-bag with a thesaurus". Also, he pronounces it "Thess-a-ress".

Then there's a bizarre point that he knew it was going to be a bad movie because it didn't piss gamers off.

After a whole review shitting on the film aside from the two pirate ship set piece, he gives it a 5/10.

The video ends with a picture of Kirby eating a car and the caption "This is still so important".


Having never seen the film, if it's major crimes are Mark Walberg is in it too much and gets the best one liners, "spiderman" isn't in it enough, and it didn't piss off gamers enough, it sounds like it might be a decent enough film. Any kiwis want to give it a real review or recommend a YouTuber that has?

I think you got that wrong. Even Wokeists, as fucking retarded as they are, know Cyberpunk is dystopian. They know the horrible nightmare corporate gangbang world the setting presents is supposed to be bad. The reason they're so obnoxious about it is they think because it criticizes large corporations, they "own" it and get to gatekeep for it. Because obviously they're the true and honest haters of all things Capitalism! Like MovieBob, who never met a Disney product he didn't like.

When people complained that was a fundamental incongruity with the source material? Naturally, they were told to stop being racist, there needed to be diversity amongst fictional characters from alternate realities. By people who then turned around and blasted the casting of America Chavez as "the wrong race" for someone playing a fictional character from an alternate reality.....

Literally ANYONE they pick is going to be the "wrong" race, Chavez is from a FICTIONAL SOCIETY THAT DOESN'T HAVE CORPOREAL MEMEBERS TO CAST. The best they can do is someone who LOOKS like the character, right?

I actually would've been okay if one of the seven Dwarf Fathers was black, since we mostly only read about the Longbeards in the books. In the Silmarillion, there are the Firebeards and Broadbeams, who are very lightly described.

If the Blacklocks or Stonefoots were black, whatever; depending on what RPG you're using they're from the south and east. But you know they can't do that and then not make them stereotypical africans/generic brown people and not dwarrow at all. Fuck's sake, they couldn't even put a beard on their kwaeeen.

But whatever; Rings of Power's gonna suck, and I don't even think Brainless Bobby will watch it. He'll just read the synopses with his chicken stare and gurgle and fake that he watched it like he does with 75% of all the product he claims to consoom.
