Crime Boy, 4, punched in head in New York's Times Square, mother takes suspect down

NEW YORK -- A man was arrested after he allegedly punched a 4-year-old boy in the head in a random attack in New York Thursday.

Babacar Mbaye approached 43-year-old Rafaela Rivera and her two children around 3:20 p.m. in Times Square, according to police.

Rivera said they had just finished a photoshoot for her son, Angel Rivera, and were taking a walk to enjoy the weather when she noticed Mbaye walking oddly towards them.

"I heard a smack like somebody got hit in the head with a bottle. I turn around and the baby is screaming hollering and crying," Rivera said.

According to police, that smack was from Mbaye swinging a closed fist at the boy, striking him in the head.

"The guy was walking weird and I was looking at him and I fell down on my head," the boy said. That's when the mom sprang into action and tried to take down Mbaye.

"I was grabbing toward him and said, 'Hey, you just hit my son," she said. "I grabbed him harder, and we both went down. He was on top of me, and I was not letting go."

“I was ticked off, I was outraged,” says Rafaela Rivera after her son Angel, 4, was randomly punched in the head in Times Square. This was the wrong mama to mess with…she went after her son’s attacker. The story on @ABC7NY #nyc #wabc #ch7 #TimesSquare pic.twitter.com/oZG53jqT8P

Officers arrived as the mother was holding Mbaye down.

She said Angel's head is a little red where he was struck but that he's okay.

"I didn't think it would happen," Rivera said. "We didn't even take the subway because of everything going on in the subway. We took a cab."

Mbaye has been charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Maybe that's how they recruit child soldiers where Mr. Mbaye comes from and he was having a flashback of when he was fighting in some civil war in whichever god forsaken jungle shithole he came from? That's the only logical reason I can think of for a 40-something African man to smack a random 4 year old boy over the head.

Honestly I suspect something along the lines of schizophrenia or severe drug abuse ruining his brain. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a history of incidents that should have put him in prison or a mental institution.

Damn, I'm impressed she was able to keep the dude pinned down. I know adrenaline rush does some crazy shit and all, but she's clearly not that tall, and while a bit chunky, isn't exactly a heavyweight. Props to the mother, way to many people wouldn't have done shit.
You can't touch a latino kid in front of his latina mother and expect her to stand still. You WILL get in trouble
👆
This, basically.

Only Latina mothers beat their children.

Joggers are gonna find out that Latinos aren't old Asians.

The only surprising thing about this story is that he's a bone fide African. Usually African immigrants either obey the law or stick to predating their own kind, unless they're from Somalia in which case all bets are off.
Nigerians are famous all throughout Asia for being huge criminals. It got so bad that the Nigerian ambassador to China had to make a public apology cause of all the Nigerian immigrants committing tons of crime. In Europe it's pretty much the same.

I worked with a Nigerian dude. He was pretty cool, but he told me about the last time he had gone back home. Got hit by a drunk driver leaving the airport. The driver was a uniformed officer on duty. The whole country lacks a true sense of law and order from what I've seen.

Wait, hold on here....How does a 5ft(my estimate) women hold down this guy for more than 5 sec. until the police arrive.

Sheer mass.

Possibly crazy latina strength.

The more you know: Mbaye is a Senegalese name. It is a West African nation and former colony of France

  1. The Senegal poverty rate is determined in terms of consumption. Estimates of consumption per household are divided by the number of adults in the household; this number excludes children, who are assumed to consume less than adults. From here, a minimum acceptable standard of consumption is calculated and individuals below this level of consumption are considered poor or living under the poverty line.
  2. Geographic disparities in poverty exist between rural areas and Dakar, the capital city and largest city in Senegal. In rural areas, 66 percent of residents are considered poor compared to 23 percent of residents in Dakar. Additionally, the general poverty line in Dakar is almost two times higher than it is in rural areas.
  3. As of 2011, about 38 percent of Senegal’s population was living on $1.90 or less a day.
  4. Senegal’s gross national income as of 2016 was $950.
  5. Senegal’s economy relies on industries such as mining, construction, agriculture, fishing and tourism, but also heavily relies on foreign aid and remittances. Nearly 75 percent of the population works in the agricultural sector, which is regularly threatened by inclement weather such as drought and other climate changes.
  6. Senegal has a poor economy and, as a result, many Senegalese people emigrate to other countries. An economic crisis in 1970 ignited migration, which accelerated even more by 1990. Many migrants left for Libya and Mauritania, searching for opportunities in their thriving oil industries. Others left for more developed countries such as France, Italy and Spain for other economic opportunities.
  7. Senegal’s GDP rose at an average rate of 4.5 percent from 1995 to 2005. After 2005, however, while the rest of Africa enjoyed economic growth, Senegal’s economy started to decline. From 2005 to 2011, Senegal’s economy rose at an average rate of 3.3 percent. Decline in economic growth, especially during 2005 to 2011, can be attributed to drought, floods, rising fuel prices and the global financial crisis.
  8. The World Bank reported that Senegal’s GDP growth is too low for significant poverty reduction.
  9. The fertility rate in Senegal is almost 4.5 children per woman. Young people comprise a large portion – 60 percent – of the Senegalese population. Additionally, Senegal has an illiteracy rate of 40 percent and a high unemployment rate of 12.7 percent, both of which provide dim outlooks for Senegalese youth. According to the Hunger Project, 22 percent of children ages five to 14 are working and not attending school.
  10. Unlike many countries facing extreme poverty, Senegal has one of the most stable governments in Africa and is considered a model for democracy in Africa. Since its independence from France in 1960, Senegal has elected four presidents and has witnessed three peaceful political transitions.
Despite the fact that the Senegal poverty rate is high, many projects have been implemented to reduce the poverty rate. President Macky Sall unveiled the Emerging Senegal Plan (ESP), which strives to prioritize economic reforms and growth. The International Monetary Fund has been providing assistance for the ESP from 2015 to 2017.

In an attempt to take a fresh look at poverty, Senegal’s national statistics office distributed the second Senegal Poverty Monitoring Survey. The World Bank, the Canadian government and the World Food Programme provided financial support. The survey, however, has room for error because it is heavily dependent on the time of year that residents fill it out, as consumption levels vary based on the harvest.

Microfinance has become a key role in reducing poverty in very poor countries, such as Senegal. This program has allowed poor individuals who are excluded from traditional banking to obtain micro loans. The Hunger Project introduced the Microfinance Program (MFP) in Senegal, which strives to incorporate female farmers and entrepreneurs in order to give them a larger voice in the community. Three of the MFPs in Senegal have been approved by the government to operate as Rural Banks. MFPs provide credit and savings programs and have allowed many farmers to move beyond exclusively subsistence farming.

Economic growth will be the key component in reducing poverty in Senegal. These projects involving the Senegalese government and other various organizations will spark this economic growth, which should in turn help to reduce the Senegal poverty rate.

I can't help thinking that, between Marcellus Duckworth and Babacar Mbaye, "Guess the Race" doesn't have an 'easy mode' so much as a 'journalist mode', where you watch the CGI niggers run around for half an hour then complain about queer representation on Kotaku.

The toddler was probably babbling to himself or mom and nignog took it as some Bix Nood dissrespeck and wanted to throw down.

Fucked around and found out, didn’t ya? Never mess with Latina moms, they will wreck you

If that were the case, how are they able to legally be there at all?
It's difficult to do background checks on Africans since it takes about $20 in any African country to falsify a clean sheet. Still, China kicked out like 90% of their African population after they realized that they turned parts of one of their cities, Guangzhou, into a massive shithole.

Funny thing is that Africans tried the same shit they do in the West, which is to complain about the racist police and they rioted several times over it. The Chinese government apparently was not as easily swayed and deported their asses.

Again, if that were the case, how are they able to legally be there at all? There's nothing mandating that they allow them in, and China (or any Asian country) doesn't have the scruples that western nations do in regards to those of African descent.

The population of Guangzhou is 65 million, and the population of Nigerians in the entirety of China was 10,000 as of 2014. Around that time, it was stated that there were 400 Nigerians jailed mainly on drug offenses.

How did Guangzhou, parts or whole, get turned into a massive shithole on account of them?
