This is gonna be the case with most of the protesters, the same thing happened with the Summer Of Peace and a lot of other western protests in general. Most governments are too lazy to have to process a couple hundred people within a couple days in a single area. They're just going after the ring leaders and give themselves a pat on the back.

Ya US cities do catch and release all the time in protests under the guise of deescalation. But thats the end of it.
It will interesting to see if this lad gets his bank account and military pension frozen. They have no problem freezing a poor single mom. I have no reason to believe they wont be more harsh on someone who showed up IRL.
