Trainwreck Jill C Noyes Rodrigues / David Rodrigues / Rodrigues Family Ministries / Rodrigues Family Serving Jesus / All Things Truth Printing Ministry - Batshit MLM-shill narc mom of 13 starving children and her jobless "headship". Grifting and drifting across the US in an RV. Wanted by WV CPS.

Maybe there wasn’t a car seat because they only have one and it’s installed in Nurie’s little car that Nathan got her when they first got married. Jill bragged on him buying it cash on social media because *debt free.* It looks like the crash involved Nathan’s work truck. Still stupid but I get not wanting the hassle of uninstalling and reinstalling the seat for a quick trip.
Even so if he can afford to allegedly buy a car in cash he can buy another car seat.

Airbags will hurt adults even when buckled in. They probably had him in the backseat lying on a blanket. There is a clip of that around 0:57 in this video. Jesus Christ. He is astonishingly lucky he wasn’t killed.
Reeeeally lucky.

Storytime: a few decades ago, the local health department in a Hispanic American community couldn't get mothers to use car seats. They refused to believe they were safer than mother's arms. There was also a streak of fatalism: if my baby's number is up, it's time for him to go.

So they brought in a priest to bless the car seats. The mothers accepted them. Jill- here's your chance to ACTUALLY make a difference. Holy car seats!

I bet Nathan is just furious about that ticket.

Fundies not using car seats is pretty typical. They will use them—but not for as long as they probably should.

Remember these are the same people that post boomer memes about drinking out of a hose, the idea of defying the law and not using a car seat makes them feel superior.

I don't think "superior" is the right word. These people don't think about TBIs occurring from a motor vehicle accident.

You really are putting a child in a car seat because it's the difference between splattering their brains all over the road or a broken arm in the car seat. It probably won't happen, but if you need it, it can make a huge difference in your child's life. Nathan and Nurie are pretty simple people who look at the likelihood overall and think, "Good enough." They're not bad people. They're just ignorant.
Reeeeally lucky.

That is awesome that your local health department did that. And I am stealing this idea to pass on.

Of course, Jill has social media, but the one time someone might want to touch poop, Nurie and Nathan don't have SM, and throwing Jill an Amazon gift card for Nathan and Nurie is just flushing it down the toilet.

Florida laws are pretty specific about car seats and booster chairs. Not only that, but nearly every city and county (including theirs) has car seat installation centers and services at at least one police or fire station in the city and/or county. There's also a robust free car seat program in Florida, and local to them.

They're not simple or ignorant, as they have seen children in carseats and parents strapping their kids in. They obviously needed one, or were sheepish about not using one, to take their baby home from the birthing center.

I agree that they probably figured nurie's lap was good enough, but I also think that in these fringe groups, there's a pervasive mentality that rules don't apply to them. It doesn't stem from religion so much as it stems from the fringe-ness. However, I can think of multiple examples where it does stem from religion. Whether they think they're blessed, or meant to die when they die,

It's true that fundies often talk about the rules of 'the world' don't apply to them because they choose to be apart from 'the world'. For those who don't know, 'the world' is a fundie term for the world outside of what is essentially god's word, so anyone or anything worldly is not to be trusted and if possible, not obeyed when it comes to rules.

There's a definite feeling that the rules don't apply but that doesn't necessarily equate to deliberate flouting of the law just because they're flipping off those worldly road rules. It's sort of running in the back of their minds, giving them a kind of inbuilt sense of entitlement that they can do things their way because it's the right way. Sometimes it aligns with what the worldly laws say (usually if it works in their favour) but sometimes it doesn't.

They are lazy about road rules because infractions usually don't come with serious consequences. If it had serious consequences like zero tolerance jail time for no seatbelts, they'd do it. It dovetails with what I posted about above, the sense (which is mostly unconsious) that they are somehow safe because of their righteousness. God will be faithful and keep them and theirs safe.

I have no idea how the Kellers are with safety but I know Nurie grew up with seatbelts never being enforced and the RV was a death trap. It doesn't surprise me at all that she thinks holding the baby is safe. I've seen Jill do it in a video.

In the RV they literally kept the infants and toddlers in home made "baby cages". So car safety wasn't a priority. Hell, with that family neither babies nor kids are a priority TBH.

These people are scum, morons. Yes even Nathan. Even Nurie. This entire group of people, every last one. Having hope that they'll care about the well-being of a woman or born child, or about any aspect of safety or education is optimistic in the extreme. It's like looking in the Sammie Bushart thread for a clean house, or the Scalfani thread expecting a good restaurant review.

That kid was doomed to horror from the moment he was born.

I knew all I needed to know about Nurie when she got out from under Jill's grip yet never changed those insane eyebrows. She's seen normal eyebrows at this point. Someone has had to say something. She still chooses to do them that way. She's the golden child of narcissistic parents; unless something changes in the family dynamic she's likely to become as bad as Jill.

More Valentines tribute given unto Jill by her children army. Obviously, Jill didn't give any presents to her children.

"Stoic" is a great cover for "lazy and just doesn't give a shit".

Jill is still "encouraging" her daughters to bring in some cash money for Sweet Mama by selling paper earrings on Esty. Renee sounds the least retarded of the adult daughters.

Jill's mania lead her to harass their pastor's wife until she relented and allowed Jill (via Samuel's labor) to put some ugly tat up in her store.

And lastly, Jill acknowledged Sophia for once, because she took a photo of Jill's precious 4 year old baby Janessa.

Further to the above, watch this video of Jill interacting with both girls. Jill treats Janessa like an infant and coos at her incessecantly; it's little wonder the child can barely speak (oh, and all their furniture are belong to Jill, apparently). Sophia, desperate for approval and affection, comes over to show her mother how carefully and diligently she can paint furniture, and she does a great job for a kid, even taps excess paint off the brush to avoid drips! Jill relents and says she's doing a good job, but she's just laser focused on Janessa at all times. The rest of the not-Nuries may as well be red headed step kids.

Couldn’t someone at a hardware store install it for them? I remember seeing an old Halfords advert where they said they’d do that for you if you bought a baby car seat from them but I don’t know if they exist outside of Bongland.
Most fire departments in the United States will install a carseat, free of charge. You just show up with your vehicle and the seat, and one of the firefighters will install it correctly.

I would not trust any member of either of these families to properly install a carseat.

Well, it'd be a miracle if any of the kids have normal attachment abilities. Under-educated, under-socialized, neglected, and raised by someone with untreated mental illness. You're not going to get great results with that. Also critical thinking skills were never encouraged so I don't think they really have that ability either.

I'm waiting for one of the sons to pick up a shotgun some night. Not everyone is mentally resilient enough to stay in a pressure cooker like that for as long as those kids have.

Doubtful. I used to work at a hardware store in Burgerland and we weren't allowed to help customers tie down the load in the back of their truck, let alone installing car seats for infants.

For fuck's sake Nathan. Now I'm worried about Nemmy.
Just now? Nathan and Nurie were never competent adults who should be entrusted with caring for an infant. They are both uneducated, sheltered, and raised in a cult. They will never get better and be a functioning member of society. I know a lot of people here are hopeful that Nathan and Nurie will turn out normal. but they won't.

I keep thinking that she hasn't brought up being pregnant with Nurie recently. Her dusty old womb probably can't have anymore, which is good. Nurie and Nathan were cutting it fucking close, hopefully this was their "sign from god". Was Nemmy in the back seat and her comforting him because he was crying or something? Ive seen moms do that, hop into the back seat and take the infant out to calm them.

I don't see a happy ending for Jill and David.
I always imagine how weird it's gonna be watching Court TV anchors talking about her facebook posts, or hey, maybe we'll get a 20/20 special!

Hadn't thought of that, but I hope that was the case. :(

If that happens I'll donate to their legal fund. Kids who kill their abusive parents did nothing wrong, and we all know the Rod are barely any better than the damn Turpins with how they treat their kids.

Speaking of everything we see of the youngest girls, their hair just looks so thin and dull. They just look malnourished even if you didn't know that Jill starves her kids :(

Catching up after a few days off and WOW. Thank God or whatever you may believe in that Nemmy is okay.

I know a lot of hospitals won't let you leave with your newborn until they see the carseat and that you know how to properly put baby in. Did they take the carseat out of the truck? Is it in another car? Was he just sitting in the back? Was Nurie holding him?

A quick Google search shows that at least one police and/or fire station in each major Florida county still does car seat installation. Failing that, I'm sure if they had driven to the birthing center and asked for help, someone would have helped them install it. Powerlevel, my sister is an L&D nurse and she's done that numerous times. She's even stopped to help parents in parking lots struggling to install them because they're tricky and a bitch to do right and easy to install incorrectly.

Sad thing is that they all probably see this as proof that God is looking out for them and it won't teach them anything (although there will be some sort of legal repercussions). It was really really dumb luck.
