Well, with Zelensky being Zelensky and his best buddy and honored citizen of Israel Kolomoyski ... I don't know if that was autism or Mosad op. Either way, words are words, getting a real nuke isn't that trivial or cheap, any decent intel agency knows it well. It's a good bluff though to remind people with, but not much beyond that.

"1488 faction" is no bigger than Russian "1488" faction, probably considerably less and way over rated. One third of the country still not sure about closer ties with EU, never mind 1488.

It was going to be either that or a humanitarian mission. Now we just wait for the first Russian casualties to be reported. That will give all the reason they need to escalate.

My thoughts on this exactly. Donbass is going to end up being another Transnistria/Abkhazia/South Ossetia and the public will forget about it in the next few months like they forgot about Crimea. Ukraine can't take the fight to Russia, it couldn't take the fight to the DPR/LPR.

Arguably, the most peaceful option has been achieved here.
