Is civil forfeit a thing in Canada because if it is i wouldn't put it past the police to start standing around banks.

I understand the security part but not the inflation part. Banks don't pay anything for keeping your money in a savings account.

If nothing else exchange your cash for USD or Euro's. Keep enough CAD on hand to do day to day business.

Agreed. I’ve been watching this thread since we were at 100 or so pages, and this is the most fun I’ve had watching a movement since GameStonk. I think I’m gonna crack open a beer or three and read through the highlights.

And even as things are grim now, part of me is still smiling deep down. I don’t feel like this is the end. I don’t feel that sense of soul-crushing doomerism that crops up every time the protestors received pushback from the authorities. Hell, correct me if I’m wrong, but there are still protests going in Quebec, BC and Calgary right?

The most sound advice I would give anyone at this point is to know your neighbors in meatspace. Online is great for gaining knowledge but the people who live on your block, on your street, in your town, are the ones who are going to either help you out or point the authorities in your direction. It is useful to know who is going to immediately point fingers at you, who is going to fold under light pressure, and who is going to stand shoulder to shoulder with you. The absolute worst time to figure that out is when the proverbial shit is seconds away from the fan blade.

When oil goes up copper goes up. So does fuel. So the cost of getting that copper where it needs to goes up. Everybody wins. Except me filling my gas tank.

Well, the bank is trying to talk people out of it for security reasons. They will only release those sorts of sums to armoured trucks. So clients can pay for an armoured truck I guess. Also they don’t have that sort of cash on hand.

I mean, civil forfeiture isn’t a thing here the way it is in the US, there’s normally a court process but who the fuck knows these days.

My boomers are going to different branches of the banks and withdrawing whatever they can each day. They don’t care that there are reporting thresholds and they have security plans. Let’s just say it’s not going under the mattress.

However, why support the institution that discriminates against your fellow citizens.

What is there to smile about? All we have is Trudeau bringing the hammer down to the delight of his supporters, and he didn’t even need to bring in the military. If it ain’t the end, we’re in the epilogue where Trudeau is trying to 100% the convoy crush with the only shocking aspect is that he didn’t try to speed run.
