I believe apart from one college town with a mask protest in front of city hall, there has been zero enforcement of mask laws. The opinions of the officers are two fold. One they don't agree with the mask mandate and have discretion.

Two, about 1/4 to 1/5 of the people here are carrying a gun. They can try to cite a person for not wearing a mask but what if the citizen refuses? Albeit small, am I going to risk a shootout over a mask?

Had 2 lefty friends over last night, one is a contractor for the gov. the other one a speechwriter. Here's what I learned:

1. That granny ain't a granny. She's 49 or something!

2. They really bristle when you describe the protest as non-violent. Pearls clutched so hard they shatter. Then ask them for examples of violence, and they'll struggle till they pull out;


3. Speech is violence. No, not just hate speech/incitement to violence, speech IS violence. Demonstration: violence. One friend brought up a confontation in Ottawa where truckers were allegedly making fun of someone (friend of a friend's elderly mother) wearing a mask outside, while trying to get away they fall, breaking their hand. That is assault apparently. Nevermind that lefty guy on the balcony calling the convoy woman a cunt the other day and telling her to kill herself, that's fine. That's just like, discourse, man.

I pointed out the various anti-convoy car attacks, detailing how I actually know the guy who did the Winnipeg one, I've met him almost a half dozen times. That's a strange outlier to be contextualized and ignored, unlike all those one nazi flags.

One thing I think made some waves in their echo chamber when discussing fake news and non-violence is the idea that these derranged, usurping, ignorant, violent truckers were fed lies about a granny being trampled to death... And still were passive/non-violent. Amazing stuff really, when you think about it. That level of restraint and control is insane considering the lefty spirals and violence when they are fed lies about a 12 year old who dindu nuffin getting shot by police when in reality they were much older and were about to stab someone.

By the time I was 35, several of my schoolmates were grandmothers.

Canada has a very "elderly" age for its average first-time mother (approaching 30), but here in the US it's still just 23 years old. 49 is a deeply normal age for a woman with a couple of grandchildren, anywhere outside of bughives where everyone is telling you to travel the world until you need IVF.

I almost started to not post that whole diatribe because I felt most people would just skip it but we all need reminders at times.

Some advice to anyone discussing this whole situation with friends. Do everything you can to reign in your emotions when discussing this with anyone you don't trust 100% with your life and freedom. Personally, I would never vocalize how far I'd be willing to go whether in meatspace or online. If you say the wrong thing around the wrong person, someone is going to drop a dime on you and you're going to be hating life way more than you could ever imagine. What happens if they end up with civil war or the troubles how long before uncle sam gets involved and use it as an excuse to appropriate alberta ? Like their premiers and population is getting tired getting fucked by the bugmen and decide maybe being 51-52nd state of USA is better option or independence while essentially being part USA.

Agreed. My friends have become the prime example of absolutely stupid braindead liberals since they moved to the city, and when I brought up the convoy with them, they "didn't want to hear about it". Funny how years ago, they'd be willing to rag on Castreau with me, now they don't want to hear anything about what's going on. I just don't talk to them at all really, unless it's about our jobs or mundane stuff. Because as much as I still idiotically care about them, they'll only save themselves when they are woken up. I could drag every politician on the planet in front of them and have them say their true agenda, and they'd still be signed on to this insanity. So it's now on them to either use their brains or get dragged down with the rest of them.

Hilariously, it actually reminds me of something out of the bible. The parable of the Rich Man and the Poor Man, where the rich man is in hell asking the poor man be sent to his brothers to save them.
