Does anyone remember if there was anything that happened in late 2018/early 2019, around then? That’s the big turning point for when they first stalled out in subscribers, until two years later when Ryan confirmed the big downwards trend.
>2017-2019 was a the release of the Shisno Trilogy for RvB, which was not well received and effectively finished off killing the series following The Chorus Trilogy and Anthology
>RWBY Volume 5 came out in 2017 and was the first big schism for the fandom, Volume 6 came out in 2018 but was only released on RT's website, V5 and V6 are also considered to be two of the worst seasons of RWBY with V5 being in strong contention for the worst season of RWBY period
>2018 was also the first of RT's first big pushes for RT First and their own website since they got tired of getting demonitized all the time on Youtube
>Camp Camp died at the end of 2019 along with most of their other animations
>The whole GEN:Lock fiasco happened in 2018
>Their let's play content had fully stagnated into the three game formula we see now
>Mica threw her hissy fit and left in 2018
>The political stuff became more regular
2018-2019 was a
BAD couple of years for Rooster Teeth, I'm sure there's more than just what I've listed here but those are kinda the big notes.
EDITED TO ADD: This is just internal shit within RT itself too, this isn't accounting for things like the changing digital landscape, youtube algorithm fuckery, and other creators getting big and siphoning off views from RT.
