Just to track something I noticed. At 24:50 Chantal is driving down the road and mid-sentence side-eyes her phone and gets quiet. She then reaches her hand out to the phone and then suddenly the stream cuts, and she's back at a different location driving, taking her hand back from the phone. She then says "I had to plug my phone in. I think it died, teehee. Sorry!"

It's a small thing but considering that she flat out lied about it, I'd assume it's Egypt or Dede texting her. Anyone else and she wouldn't lie. I doubt it was the phone's battery being low considering the way she side-eyed the phone and then getting all quiet before she even finished what she was saying. Lots of places have limits on daily transactions on cards -- it's a fraud thing -- but it takes approximately 2 minutes to call the bank, tell them you're planning on making a large purchase today, and temporarily up your limit.

Let's imagine for a second that she isn't planning on paying Nader's rent. Her behavior tells me is that she has no idea what a computer will cost, but figures $2000 should cover it (with some cash on hand in case it's a bit more). She also wants to do her nails, which let's imagine will cost her $200 with crystals and a generous tip. She thinks she'll need access to $3000 altogether, which doesn't add up but Chantal is stupid and has obviously done zero research into what kind of computer she wants, so taking that into account it starts to make a little sense. It's also completely in character that she can't be bothered to call the bank and change her daily limit, so she does things the stupidest, most inefficient way possible.


So it's almost believable that a huge chunk of that cash isn't going straight to Stebby.

Of course, the truth is most likely that she will arrive at the trap approximately ten minutes after Deedee leaves, bearing gifts. I believe the main problem is that she finds the process of choosing one to be daunting. She doesn't know what she's looking for or what she needs/wants in a computer. IIRC she has started the process of choosing a computer several times before but gets intimidated looking at options and just puts it off again.

It would be easier if she liked Apple, since there aren't too many options and she'd likely just choose the most expensive. (Which is probably what she did with the tablet.) I think she'll likely end up with an Apple anyway, since it's the easiest option and would require the least amount of thought/effort (for her).
