I still think these modern To Catch a Predator impostors are doing more harm than good overall* but god damn this one's a satisfying catch, and one of the few times that public exposure is far more damaging than mere criminal charges could ever be. My biggest pet peeve with them is how aggressive they get (which makes any "admission" the chomo makes on video practically worthless -- can we say "under duress"?), but that actually turns out beneficial here when the guy says "man, cut the bullshit" in response to the classic PR non-answer "it could be interpreted that way, yes" from the chomo.

Notice how he reassured his parents that he wouldn't even do anything "without consent"? He didn't tell them "I won't do anything, period." He told his own parents to their faces that he wouldn't fuck the family dog without its consent, meaning he absolutely would if he thought the dog did consent. And they're the zoophobes, golly!

This is all assuming that's not a troll post, which it almost certainly is.

Speaking of the IPO, go to any subreddit with more than a million subscribers on r/popular and look at the distribution of votes. In most of them, there are a couple posts with thousands to tens of thousands, a few more with hundreds, and every other post is in the double digits or lower. The only two subs I saw on my incognito page (out of 25) that didn't immediately fit this pattern were /r/nba and /r/WhitePeopleTwitter.

One sub I checked only had 4 posts today with 4 million subscribers:

The company's most recent announcement (the "community values" post) has fewer than 1500 total votes.

This does not look like a healthy site with half a billion monthly active users.

I remmber when I saw a redditer post about how upset they were after seeing what happen to the former child actress Alexa Penavega.........

This has probably been answered before but can someone enlighten me why Redditors always refer to their wife as "the wife" instead of "my wife" like any normal person would do?

I'd just say it's informal speech like "the little lady" or something but considering it's plebbit there's probably some "muh patriarchy" thing where saying "my" implies you own your wife like a slave or some dumb shit like that.
