What she really means is, they had kids at the protests so they couldn't go in with tear gas and live ammo due to the optics.

They were even talking about taking the kids away -- you know, for their safety -- and putting them in foster care during the convoy. For safety, obviously, and not because that would let them immediately go in with live ammo and tear gas.

At the moment, it seems like that, because it looks smaller than the Canadian one. However, I'm confident the convoy will get bigger given the rate at which new US convoy footage is appearing on Twitter, although I don't deny that there may be some hidden fuzzies in the trucker crowd due to anticipation on the US government's part.
