So they took what he said out of context. AGAIN.So another thing I've been seeing online regarding Trump's interview is this quote:
Was this Trump legitimating Putin's tactics by saying we should replicate it on the Southern border? I did the unthinkable and actually found/read the full transcript of the interview to determine the answer. Immediately following that quote, Trump clarifies.
Just like we discussed earlier, he's explicitly not saying Putin's actions are good! Just that they were an intelligent curveball that the Biden administration had no answer for, and that he would have shut down had he been in office. True to Trump form, he doesn't do it immediately, but he also does clarify his Southern border comments:
He's not saying that we should declare a big portion of Mexico independent and go in to keep peace, he's saying that the Biden administration should commit to American safety by dedicating more than a symbolic amount of resources to ensuring American security. Maybe not tanks on the Southern border, but resources enough to ensure that we can safely maintain it.
There's quite a bit more to the interview, I included the link above so you can check it out, but those comments about Trump wishing he could be Putin or whatever just aren't substantiated by the interview.
You don't need pundits to see that this isn't even a partisan issue, literally no one wants to go to war.Genuine question for the pundits out there.
If shit goes south, and a conflict really breaks, does that help Biden and the dems politically, as in in a extreme time of war the voters will help the president party to retain the houses so a more concise effort will be made towards the conflict?
Or will this potential war only worse Biden's approval for a perceived missguided interference and the subsequent rise in gas prices that it will come?
In short, will this save Biden's presidency and the Dems control, or will it doom it? Or it will be a nothing burger?
It is not going to be a big war and no one is interested in sending their young men to go and die in a ditch for some corrupt shithole that no one cares about like ukraine. There might be some big political pondering and some sanctions that look big on paper but are toothless and not really going to have much impact.Genuine question for the pundits out there.

At least you could make fun of the dipshits in power during the Bush years. Today you can't even look at Biden's crack addicted son funny without your bank account being frozen.
^This, and I can't help but feel like most of us are kind of....over war these days. At least here in the U.S. I don't know if this is a controversial angle or whatever, but the U.S. has been at war for about 225 years total and it kind of feels like all of the glory has been bleached out of it. The increased awareness of PTSD and the other psychological and physical casualties of war, plus the frequently poor conditions of post-war life for veterans, definitely serves to take a lot of the shine out of the concept. You don't need pundits to see that this isn't even a partisan issue, literally no one wants to go to war.
The republicans don't want to die for Raytheon/Biden, and liberals are disingenuous fucks who want other people to die but not themselves specifically - they'll chickenhawk until they get sent to ukraine. Even the Politicians don't want to, hence the half-assed sanctions and Political chin-wagging.
The problem isnt that someone wants a war, it's that our politicians are so inept they might accidentally us into a full-scale war regardless.^This, and I can't help but feel like most of us are kind of....over war these days. Sure, that makes sense. None of this happened before the Ukraine “crisis”. Send Hunter over to make a deal, then we get out of inflation.
"NU-UH, I DIDN'T EAT THE COOKIES, IT WAS VLADDY!"
Correct. But that won't stop them from using it as the excuse and refusing to allow anyone else to put forth any alternate reality.I know they are in their bubble but the spin is so transparent nobody but the most hardcore believers will buy it. People have been noticing inflation for 4+ months and just last month the admin was claiming this was the best economy ever.
"Please ignore that it was happening all of last year before the current crisis."
What this means is that they expect it to get worse. Way worse. They don't go about acknowledging a problem until the denials are past parody.I know they are in their bubble but the spin is so transparent nobody but the most hardcore believers will buy it. Why aren't Russia the good guys here? If all they do is have regions that are pro Russian be recognized as independent nations what's the problem here?On the whole Russia business, it's hilarious that even though Russia are clearly not the good guys here, the US and Biden especially, have managed to piss away so much goodwill from the general public that absolutely nobody gives a fuck and some people are actively defending Russia.
US foreign politics since 2000 have been an epic disaster.
Said regions have a lot of illegal American money hidden in them. Why aren't Russia the good guys here? If all they do is have regions that are pro Russian be recognized as independent nations what's the problem here?
