The one positive thing is that it might make the Chinese who keep buying up shit in Canada to start second guessing and pull investments out.

Outside of DC, where do the truckers hit? Lots of states either have no mandates or the mandates are realaxed compared to Canada or they're not strictly enforced.

I really hope the DC shit is a distraction and they just muck up various US-Canada border crossings in protest of Biden's trucker vaccine mandate and to be in solidarity with the Canadians.

BC and Alberta hate each other. Quebec does not even speak English; in fact, the Quebecois force the rest of the country to pretend to speak their hick French. For obvious reasons everyone hates Ottawa.

I know one can be caught up in whatever the passing winds of whatever today's story is but I think we are watching the beginning of Canada's death spiral. Canada's demographics are terminal; Canada's economy will never really grow again.

For the past 50 years all of Canada has been living off Albertan transfers. The transfers from Alberta to Ottawa were the most of any Western province in any Western country. And now, the Albertans are about to be destroyed by American shale. And BC is laughing about it. About 40% of Albertans wanted to secede from Canada before the trucker protests. After Trudeau's enabling act, I imagine, many Canadians woke up the next day as Albertans.

Don't be surprised if a tax revolt is on the cards.

As usual the situation is more nuanced than this. For starters Alberta and BC aren't at loggerheads - the lower mainland and blue collar flyover territory are. Outside of some weird hippy pockets in the Okanagan and Kootenays eastern and northern BC are right-wing central sharing more in common with Alberta than Vancouver.

Likewise secession in Alberta actually hovers around 15-20% right now (which is already incredible), but 40% is not that unreasonable in the near to mid-future. All it'll take is another major western-centric crisis like Trans-Mountain invoking the Liberal love of hypocrisy to see some major movement on that front.

Kind of funny such a thing currently exists with equalization. In between the chaos of Wuflu and Blackface Hitler everyone has conveniently forgotten about that Albertan referendum on equalization back in October. A referendum that went 60-40 in telling Ontario and Quebec to fuck right off. Going to be a mighty shame seeing that issue brought up with no easy way for Trudeau to ignore it.

Have you ever sweat through you shoes before? As in they will make squishy noises when you walk like you just stepped in a deep mud puddle. Literally wringing out your socks. It will happen to you will if you go outside for any period of time in that state in the summer.

It is the ultra-humid oppressive heat that will MAKE YOU WANT TO PEEL OFF YOUR SKIN TO RELEIVE YOUR SUFFERING. And then everyday at 3 O'Clock when it starts to cool down these clouds roll in. Black dark clouds. Then it rains sheets for an hour or more. Inches of rain. Standing water everywhere soaking everything. You can't walk or drive or do anything in it. I closes everything down. Then it just stops as quick as it started.

When the standing water recedes into the storm drains and the sky clears the humidity drops it then starts slowly building again to do the same exact shit tomorrow.

Florida has great weather in the absolute dead of winter. The rest of the time it is absolutely awful. Stay up north near the border. Normal people aren't built for Florida weather.

I don't disagree, perusing many native social media, alot of them are absolutely assmad that the truckers gained more attention in mainstream than they have with their water protests and blockades. With recent developments in Ukraine, specifically with respect to Putin's diplomatic recognition of the Luhansk People's Republic and the Donetsk People's Republic, I can't help but notice certain parallels with events in Canada.

U.S. sanctions target Russian elites and two state-owned banks, excluding them from the U.S. banking system, banning them from trading with Americans, and freezing their U.S. assets. They also seek to deny the Russian government access to Western financing.

Does that sound familiar? They are doing the exact same thing to the Russians that they did to the truckers. They are not merely freezing peaceful protesters' bank accounts, they are levying sanctions against their own citizens. The neolib method of waging war is starving foreign citizens with financial sanctions (for example in Iraq or Iran), and it is leaking from foreign policy to domestic policy. There is one distinction between what's going on with Russia and the truckers, however, and that's the Russian sanctions being targeted on their elites, while the trucker sanctions are targeting everyone, more like the nation-wide sanctions they deploy against places like Venezuela.

It is a very strange strategy, given the ideas underlying foreign policy financial sanctions. They do not typically express this, but to say the quiet part out loud, one of the major purposes of nation-wide sanctions is regime change. Without firing any bullets, neolib sanctions-users are at least partly hoping that the lowered standard of living for average people will either cause a popular revolution, or if it is more democratic, convince the people to force the government to be more pro-Western again, so they can be rich again. On the other hand, if all that fails, and a real war goes hot, the enemy is poorer and weaker after a period of sanctions.

This again comes back to the question of why they are doing this. If sanctions are meant to stoke popular discontent and civil war, is that what they are trying to stoke in this country? Is the plan to keep poking the bear until he snaps, and then use that as an excuse for a mega-crackdown? Whatever the plan was, it seems to be dissipating. They seem to be backing out of the frozen accounts bullshit.

I’m not sure if Romania and Libya is on the menu since not only does he have a lot of support in places that won’t just hand him to the truckers on a silver platter, I assume the Canadian government has ways to keep him from being found. Every country worth its salt has a special bunker made for their leader to carry out his duties in times of crisis. The only question is how often he leaves it.

I read that a similar thing happened in Australia. "The stolen generation" they call it. Where native parents were seen not fit to care for their children and put them in boarding schools with foster families. Those same children now work in an entire grifting industry in Australia that revolves around reperations and demonizing the evil colonizers. The entire media is 100% behind this by the way.

So later the Government decided to let the remaining natives raise the children on their own ancestral lands with houses built for them by the government.
