General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

When will Cover learn that base A-posing acrylic stands of the key art look boring as fuck?

Heck look at how fucking bold scuttle has gotten (:_(, we seriously need some good shit and spergery to get this thread back on the right Holotrack.
They can start with less lazy acrylic stands.

I've been wondering since I found that monthly numberfag account. Why does holoEN stream less than the JP branch? I get the impression that the JP girls have so much going on outside the streams like choreography lessons, voice acting, 3d live prep etc. in addition to the normal workload all branches have, but every EN girl not named Kiara streams ~40-50 hours a month most months. JP has their share of streamers in that range and lower too, but it's not the norm. Maybe it's just been a few slow months in a row but it feels like there's holes in EN's schedule.
Japanese aren't lazy.

Could be worse, look at half of the ID members.

Kiara streams long hours but she does have break days and takes mini vacations to avoid burn out. She says she thinks the Japs stream too much and need to learn how to vacation.

So that el xox bitch, still cant tell if its a boy or a girl really, is under fire. Again. This time for putting her nsfw vods under a 100 DOLLAR PAYWALL. not even her simps were tolerating that bullshit.

Actually it costs $0 to shake your ass on camera. Keep dreaming honey.

I am still in fucking awe that she thought anybody would pay 100 dollars a month for a stream that was free to watch. Holy fucking shit.

Also have some tranny nonsense

All the while Luna manages to get her most dedicated Luknights to shell out 50/100$ on her roommate's fanbox for a monthly at most PG13 stream.

Admittedly if I had to money to shell out for it I would.

Ayame... but keep in mind holo JP is full of NND veterans, people who sometimes started as children and have years of experience of streaming and dealing with the schizos etc. Out of EN only Kiara actually shares this kind of background since she learned Japanese by streaming on NND as a teen, I'm not surprised she managed to get in the groove better than others despite all the awkwardness at the start.

As for the Council all of them started with strong potential but they still feel like sidekicks.

I wanted to ask this, did Rushia end up losing thousands and thousands of subscribers, as was predicted by everyone, or is the whole Twinkgate another big fucking nothing.

Japanese culture in general kinda has a “work work work and contribute to society” mindset behind it. Holo JPN streaming as much as they do is probably tied into that. Overwork in Japan is a big issue, they have all kinds of deaths because of it.

I mean not that I disagree — because I don't — but HoloEN aren't streaming much even by the standards of other EN groups too. You can't pin that on Japanese work culture. There are members of startups who have streamed more hours this month than everyone but chimkin and cuckreaper.

  • Agree
Reactions: Suikafag and lakyus
Along with the Souchou cosplay, kson is talking about a few interesting things in this stream.
  • One of her friends got super down and she got pulled along with that, but then they got better.
  • Sounds like she's planning to start streaming on Twitch and is trying to convince friends to do the same.
  • Had a poll to see if people wanted more RL streams, obviously, it ended up being 90% in favor.
  • Mentioned that a lot of people and companies are getting into vtubing, And that some don't have the vtubers best interest at heart. That there are horrible places to work as a vtuber. And that she hopes to change that in the future in some way.
  • She seems to be in a much better place compared to a few months ago when she said that she wasn't happy anymore streaming.
  • Working on 3 projects and says there will be big announcements this year.
  • Wants to buy a big house and live with 4-5 other friends, Hype House style.
  • Talks about Kanata dealing with COVID a bit.

PIPS NOOOOOOO

ACAB, though. What we just saw happen in Ottawa should drive it home for you as it has for me. Does Niji not have enough western management to have anticipated this backlash would happen? It does kinda feel like an own goal, and even if it's a tempest in a teapot, it could have been easily avoided, I think.

I'm not performatively angry enough to tweet about it, but the same way I'll no longer watch shows or movies or play games where cops are heroes, I'll never watch this guy's streams.
Protip, the world does not revolve around stupid shit that happens in the USA or Canada. Also, overall while there are examples of police brutality and police corruption in all countries, cops are viewed in a mostly positive light.

The art is nice and it feels like a slice of life anime but the singing feels lackluster, given that it is an OP of an anime, and the energy must be upbeat. I'm not sure if its the mixing or the singer's fault, but there are certain parts where some council members were unsure of the lyrics they're singing, and you can hear a miniscule second of silence or pause before the next jp word or phrase.
Probably each talent took a few takes and it was then cut up and edited together to look as if it was sung in one go. Also, the fact that 3 of them don't really speak Japanese and only 2 of them can actually sing (Bae, Mumei) is what makes it feel a bit "meh".

The difference is that Myth pretty quickly got a lot better at collabing. I'd say just roll Irys into Gen2 so they can get the extrovert energy and initiator they need. She plays the Kiara role and is more natural at it imo, prob cus English isn't her second language so she gets all the jokes and references.
People shit on Kiara but if it wasn't for her, Myth's collabs would have been shit at least up to a point where they got comfortable enough with each other to be proactive in their interactions.

Call me biased but I do think Nijisanji's cover of Hikaru Nara was much better than this. Like someone else said, maybe it's because of the mixing or because of how they're directed but most of Council sounds off singing it compared to Inui, Hoshikawa, Akina, Yumeoi and Morinaka do.
I think that, aside from having a powerhouse like Inui, part of it is because the parts that are meant for male vocals are sung by the males and that the hook or chorus is supposed to have this harmony of female and male voices so Council's cover, especially if you're familiar with the song sounds even more off.
It helps if you can actually sing. (3/5 girls in Council can't really sing that well)

While I agree it is their "official" model so 1. people already are familiar with it and 2. you cut costs by not having to commission new art (doing the bare minimum to get maximum profit). Cover should do acrylic stands for each outfit and have a sort of collection going. I don't really care about the stands but I'm guessing that if you add a "collector" element by including more outfits and maybe even some special edition ones people would buy them more for collection purposes.

Of course not, but that's where a significant portion of the audience of a NijiEN generation will be, so it makes sense to consider the cultural flow there. And anti-cop sentiment is on the rise even outside of the normal far lefty circles as of late.
