He's already cut ties with globohomo. China's been preparing to go full hermit kingdom for the better part of the last decade, and Xi has been the architect of this. Taiwan is the least of his problems atm because he still has to finish locking the populace down so they don't Robespierre him while the army is bogged down fighting for Taiwan against Japan.
Imo there is a significant difference between Russia and China. I don’t feel Russia has as much influence on our bureaucrats and politicians as China via corporations. China believes it’s own hype and that it can forcibly make everyone else do what they want. If they could, they would dominate every aspect of everyone’s life. The reason they’re divorcing with globohomo is because they’re mad they didn’t get it all their way. They’re only picking up their ball and leaving because it wasn’t 100% in their favor.
With Russia I get the sense they’re paranoid, drunk, and possibly on meth, but they don’t seem to have the appetite or ability to affect my daily life. I feel like they could be our friends, they were once prior to Communism. Furthermore, I don’t have any desire to play world police. I have seen several generations of soldiers the age of my father, my own age, and even young enough to be my sons kill and die for a class of people who actively hate them. Fighting in Ukraine in my mind is no different than sticking our nose in Afghanistan or Iraq. I don’t like them bullying Ukraine around but I don’t want to support the political and laptop classes at home.
China on the other hand actively and maliciously carved out the American working class, while the bugmen looked the other way, because it benefitted both of them. Don’t forget that the bugmen never saw us as fellow citizens. They benefitted immensely by hallowing out our industry, thus increasing their purchase power while decreasing that of their domestic enemies. They hate the trades and gleefully wish to gut them in their entirety. They have removed them from the curriculum and actively attempt to reduce the wealth and influence of those industries. It’s why they want a large body of non-citizens, because it gives them more economic leverage and helps their bottom lines. Furthermore, China is the largest communist nation in existence and actively supports many of the communistic movements abroad, which is why they tend to be globohomo adjacent. They have long leveraged their influence over corporations, bureaucracies, and even schools to spread Maoist ideals throughout the world.
In short, China is an antagonistic state, especially to the workers of other countries. They have and will actively ruin your life if it profits or conveniences them. Thankfully, their decoupling from globohomo and their population decline will limit their ability to do so.
