No I agree with you, Poland had to earn its place in a way few nations have, there's no doubt about that and that strife breeds solidarity.

I think one of the reasons Saskatchewan faired so well throughout all of this is because most of those people without a sense of nationalism leave our province for BC, or Calgary at the very least, and what we have left is people who have a strong loyalty to our province. And I think Alberta is in the middle of purging out the minority of retards that needed to go and should be fired back up momentarily.

I don't think that is the point. It is to teach you the principles of language. I learned a lot about English in my Spanish class. If that makes sense.

French classes are pretty much useless in the same way that English classes are useless in Asian countries like South Korea and Japan. You go to school, learn one or two phrases every couple of days, never use it outside of class and forget it when you finish high school.
Unless you take some sort of integrated or French focused curriculum, you never really learn that much.

To be fair, my listening is okay and I can mostly follow a French conversation if it's not too fast but I'm probably the rarity.

I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Fascinating. It makes English sound like a mixture of Scottish/Welsh and German. And, considering that German is considered the sister language to English, this isn't far off.

Being greedy is simple to understand - everybody likes money and recognizes its utility. But what value is there in controlling every trivial aspect of the lives of strangers, unless you're a complete neurotic basketcase?

Unfortunately, it looks like a fair number of such basketcases exist and have congregated in the upper echelons of government around the world. Controlling your actions and restricting your individual liberty is not a means to an end - it is the end itself.

what's confusing about it? being greedy for power is just as straightforward as being greedy for money/wealth, and once you get your hand on lots of power, there will immediately be lots of people trying to take it from you because they're just as greedy for it as you were. at this point it is very easy to slip into paranoia and lash out with unreasonable force against everything you perceive to be a threat to your power.
i think that's what we saw with trudeau and these trucker clowns - he thought their intention was to take away his power, that made him very mad, so he lashed out in anger and rage at them and their supporters.
